electronics gurus in here plz!

thinking of rigging up a simple ghetto indicator

this is what im thinking, tap power from the power line that leaves the boost switch,
which should only have power when the pump is running.

only question is, (im not so great with electronic schematics)
should i have the LED with power from that line, then ground? (as shown)
or is that going to short out the power to the pump?

Um, make sure to use a 2k-ish resistor or your LED will work for about .005 seconds @ 12vdc or use an LED preloaded for 12vdc use...
