EmperorJJ1... HELP

My car is 06 ss/sc with everything but no onstar.
Im getting the Pioneer avic d3 and want to install
What i need is:
-metra 70-2103 harness
- for steering wheel controls i need the unit part # SWI-PS ????
-metra 95-3302

and as far as wireing just make sure that i connect the blue wire in the harness to the blue and whit wire (for the amp???) and everything will work fine... am i missing anything else?

Thanks in advance for your help. I saw your posts from last year but it was for every model. just want to make sure i read it correctly for my model

And now this guy shows up. All you do is make smartass comments in every thread. You are obviously about as worthless as you think this thread is. I could care less if it helped you out but it helped me. You obviously have nothing to contribute to anyone.

What I learned by reading this post...
Racer 17 is new at car audio but is smart enough to ask someone who seems to know a bit about car audio.
Emperor is up to speed on car audio and is gentleman enough to answer questions Reign considers newbie style or stupidly obvious.
tru2.... little late, if your comment was third it may have been spot on but positioned where it is in this thread I had already considered this thread useful therefore you comment is accurate but tarty... sorry but true in my mind.
Soooo, in conclusion..... I learned a bit about some of the forum members as I am new to this board and do not know anyone but have been lurking and getting to know the different personalities...

Thanks guys (or gals... who knows...). I just got my Cobalt and am looking for info on this website and finding it fun to read. I am a very easy going person and do not intend to be jerk but sometimes I come off that way. My first "mod" is going to be new speakers and an amp. Going to order it in a few hours actually after I get over the cost and have the guts to hit the buy button. Going Alpine component in front with an Alpine amp. Gonna leave the rear speakers for now and see how it sounds and depending on what the system needs may or may not go for some new rear speakers. I am looking forward to getting to know some of the inteesting people on this site... let the games begin!!!

Well i have fought this thing ALLLLL day. This did not work. I tried it this way with no luck. I tried it wih the $110 harness and it did not work. The unit works if i take a battery and use a jumper wire but it wont work in my car. And now on top of hat, my Keyless entry, alarm, trunk button and my factory radio wont work. I have checked all of the fuses and none are blown. I am out of ideas on how to install this and now i dont know whats wrong with the rest of my car.

Which $110 harness did you use?
With the cheaper harnes what did you use for a switched power source (ignition)
What doesn't work about it, no power? Just that?
Have you looked at both fuse boxes, the one under the radio and the one under the hood?
Did you disconnect the battery before you started?

metra doesnt offer an expensive module harness for 05-06 cobalts but they do offer plenty that will plug into the same plug and alot of people are stupid and sell you it

Did you try the cheap harness? the 2103 like i mentoned in the first post. Mind you you do need to do a fuse tap to the wiper or sunroof fuse for acc power

What are those Avic D3 units worth? I saw a guy selling one, brand new in the box, for $500 today... I thought they were more than that.

probably need to have the remote wire hooked up... look on the facotry harness for a pink wire and look on the scosche harness to see nothing in said pin. Sadly enough the cheap harness would have prevented cutting of harnesses but theres not very many other options using the module
