a few quick questions...pretty urgent

Hey guys. A few quick audio questions...and some apperance questions.

I want to get an aftermarket radio. My factory CD/MP3 is pretty slow. Well, for MP3's at least. Plus, I want better sound quality. I wanted to get this Alpine forever, and it's finally dropping in price now. It's the equivilent of the last 2 Pioneer radios I got. 50x4, CD/MP3, etc. Plus, I think it looks great. I just have a few questions.

1. Can I still retain the steering wheel controls? I'd just have the shop install it. If I won't be able to use them, fine. I don't use them really anyway. But if I can still use them I'd prefer to be able to.

2. I saw 2 other members Alpine installs on here. Both SS's. One used the black install kit, and the other painted his to match the silver dash. Is there a certain place to go to get the silver dash kit, or do you have to paint it yourself? If you have to do it yourself, what's the color number or whatever? I want it to match.

3. Since the Alpine is 50x4, will it basically double the factory systems output? The HHR Pioneer system advertises 200 something I think. Thus the speakers will be even clearer and the like?

4. What all do I need to buy to install the radio? I don't want to think it'll cost so much, but then since it's a new car it's like twice that ammount.

5. Anyone on here have GMwindow ventshades? Or ANY ventshades? I've only seen one guy. I want to buy the GM ones, and am curious as to see what they look like.

I think there's more, but I'll just add it if so.

Thanks so much guys!!!

Actually I'd probably just keep it. For the simple fact that this is a leased vehicle, so I don't want to give them an Alpine radio. But good luck finding one! I'm sure someone will be willing to give theirs up!

dude buy this stuff below and a SWIX for $65 so you can still use the steering wheel buttons and you're good to go.

Selling **** is weird. I tried to sell my Honda for like 4 months. This thing was spotless. It was on 3 forums. It finally sold to a kid in my school. After all of that. lol.

But I already have some subs. Thanks anyway. lol.

Update:

I picked up the ventshades today. I just installed them. I took some pictures to throw together a mini-DIY. As in, useless waste of webspace. It's pretty simple. But oh well. I'll put that up soon. Look for it!
