First Box Pics

Just finished making my first subwoofer box with the help of my old man...Its just a basic sealed enclosure...32"x15"x15" made out of 3/4" MDF...The carpet on the corners has been touched up lol......Subs are JL13W3V3's...

Getting my 9886 head unit installed this week and then gotta find an amp to power these guys....Looking for a mono block around 700w-800wRMS...

Nope ^^ No Clarion for me, must be thinking of someone else...I found an Alpine V12 500w barely used for a decent price though so I might pick that up...

Actually, ported ones are not so hard. The hardest part is the math, and tuning he frequency.
I built my own ported box, and it slammmmmmed.

they are single 4 ohm (or dual 2 either way)?

I would look for a bit more power over the 500w alpine. if i remember correctly those subs are rated at 400-500w rms a piece

Single 4ohm - Ya most people usually run 300-600w rms to them per sub....Im gonna look around and see what else I can find thats around 800w...I would like an amp big enough to power 2 10" Type R's if anything happens to these...

Maybe I'll just splurge and get the MRP-M1000...

haha those must absolutely pound! i had two type r's bridged down to a 2 ohm and i had a powerbass 2000w mono amp 2 ohm stable in my audi a6. those things SLAMMED, but when i got the cobalt, i sold them to my buddy for his cobalt (makes no sense why i didnt keep them i kno) and they are easily 10x louder than the audi simply becuase of the smaller room inside. you can hear it coming blocks away.. dynamat should be a must i can only imagine what your trunk sounds like right now haha

i want a soundclip so i can start researching what system i want in my car. i may just buy a single type r, because i like to have some trunkspace
