Fuse Tap
Ok I got a fuse tap to install some lights. I picked the fuse that controls my interior lights so if my door opens/car is unlocked they will come on. But before I installed everything I wanted to make sure I was getting power; so I used a 12vlt light tester thing (not for sure on the name) i grounded to the door then the + wire and put at the end of the tap.. the light didnt come on. But when ever I touched the fuse directly the light came on so idk understand why the current isn't running to the end of the tap...and ideas? bad fuse tap?
this is what i got: Buy Bussmann ATM Fuse Tap - 10 Amps BP/HHH at Advance Auto Parts
thanks

yeah I thought it just needed the one I just put 2 red ones it with 10 on the top.. works fine now
one more question.. I have lights that are connect through my cigarette lighter and I plug those in manually each time when I want them on. If I run power from my fuse tap to the adapter and ground to a car body bolt will my lights come on when the door is opened or unlocked? and then plug them in to my cigarette lighter when I want them to be constantly on?

no. well maybe but doing it as simple as that is a horrible idea
you would want to wire a diode inline with each power source so neither feeds into the other. or just wire a switch and one side is on the other side is the door
