Well I bought my GMOS-Lan-04 harness from Digital4Cheap on eBay and when I received it today I was making sure that the wires fit into the module and the wire with the rca's for the amp fits fine but when I try to put in the harness that goes to the car it has 12 pins in stead of 16 that is on the module and in the manual. This is supposed to be a brand new factory sealed item and I'm wondering if Axxess didn't supply the proper harness because this is going to probably be a hassle to fix.

that def doesnt look the like the gmos-lan-04 we just used in my buddies 07

 

ya it says gmos-lan-04 on the package and the bottom of the unit and the rca harness fits fine but this other one that connects to the car is odd and the package had tape on the top corners and staples to stop it from opening

 

it should have 1 black harness that can except the 2 smaller car harnesses, unless they changed the harness again in the 08 cars

 

that doesnt seem right at all. I have the gmos lan hooked up in my 2007 and its been working fine now for a year. Can you post a larger picture of that so i can see what it look like and try to help you out more with this.

 

well I have not looked at the car but im just wondering why it doesnt fit in the module and there is no mention of a 12 pin connector only 16 and the rca harness is 14 and fits fine

 

i have a wierd feeling something is diff between the 07 and 08 models, cause ive installed 2 on 07's with no issues what so ever

i would go actuially try and put it in the car, especially if you havent looked at you car harness yet

 

ill take a picture of everything right now and im talking about the white connector as shown that connects to the module not the big black one that connects to the car, im just wondering why it has less pins and the module has more.

call metra, they are the ones that make it, i cant seem to remeber if that how the last one i did was or if you should have a 16 pin harness for that side

 

yep I got a 12 pin thats why i think its messed up, thanks

 

i would call metra to be sure, like i said the last one i did might have had those 4 pins exposed, 2 on each side, i just cant remember

 

I cant even plug it in though because the clip hits the plastic but i will see what they say

 

what if you center it in that harness and have 2 open pins on each side

 

will not fit

 

yeah something got messed in the packaging, call em up

damn your 2 hours away, my local shop has a few of these instock here in buffalo, ny, its where i always get mine from

 

does it have to fill all the holes because the harness with the rcas will fit into the 16 pin slot with the far left 2 being open and the one that goes to the car will fit into the 14 one where the pot and jumper is with the far left 2 being open as well.

 

thats what i was trying to say above, i dont remeber if there are any holes open or not, but it is possible

 

Ya I'm wondering too so maybe I was just using the wrong sides lol, i wish someone had an installed picture. Guess i was jumping the gun too early if that is the case cause the instructions don't help.

 

yeah instrictions are useless, if my buddy comes over tonight, ill pull his out and look at it

 

Well Metra just emailed me back and said it was the wrong harness and to exchange it with the place of purchase.

 

well that sucks, like i said the shop here in buffalo keeps em in stock

 

Do you have 2 8 pin connectors on your factory stereo?

 

thats not the part thats the issue
