headlight woes :( help asap
Its always something I sware... I WAS going to go to a local car show wed but stupid little stuff like this make me not want to. I bought some 2nd gen projectors on here from what I think is a well known member?? Well got them in last week and today it rained (first time since lights installed) wellllll they decided to not like it because one fogged up. And then on of the halos stopped working (you could see a little it wanted to light up but not all of it) and now neither of the halos work in that light. How do I get these dried out and will they work when it drys out or did I get shafted? This is a real bummer. If they are shot now what do I do? What do I seal these up with? Thanks chris
There are a couple of holes with a mesh screen or cover on bothe sides of the projectors. Cover them up, a piece of duct tape should do the trick. There meant to let the lights breathe or so I was told, but they let condesation in as well, I had a foging problem until I covered mine (over a year ago) they have been fine since.
A little fog should not short out your halo's, my brother's truck had a quarter inch of water in his projectors and the halos were fine....for a while.
I would look at the wiring on the outside of the light, you have to weather proof your connections, if they get wet, things short out. I used heat shrink that had silicone on the inside. When you heat it up, the silicone melts and forms a water proof barrier.
Did the LED bar (eyebrow) fail also? is it wired to the same source as the halos?

The inverters for the 2nd gen halos are just ****. You will likely have to buy new inverters for the CCFL's if you want them to work again.
Condensation is a common issue on the aftermarket lights. Remove the bulbs and just set a hair dryer pointing into the bulb sockets. Toss a sillica gel pack in there afterwards.
