i have an 07 ss/sc that will be used as a pace car for ponderosa speedway next season, my question is without spending alot of money can you get the headlights to flash alternately when you turn on the flashers. by way of wiring or anything. thanks. Donnie.

on this car how would you run the headlights to flash with the hazards if you had that relay? thanks.

Seriously it's gonna be 10x easier to just install a strobe kit and wire it to a switch. Plus it'll look better and like a normal pace car. Flashing the headlights like that is gonna kill the bulbs too.

i really dont care if it kills the bulbs. strobe kits cost to much. thanks though. id like to spend as little as possible. do you know how you would wire the headlights into the hazards though? btw this car makes a killer pace car on a clay dirt track!

The only thing I can think of to try is to splice the low beam and turn signal lights together. I wouldn't run the turn signal bulb at the same time though just to keep strain off the electrical system. To be honest though I have no idea if this would actually work or how safe for the car it would be. I doubt the turn signal bulbs run as much power as the headlight bulb does, so it'd probably be dimmer.

Alright, I'm going to say this with all due respect...

Go buy some automotive relays, hook the signal part of the relay up to the flashers. It's simple

Go read up on how a 30Amp automotive relay works, if you can't figure it out from there; Then go buy something that will do it for you.

You want somebody to do this for you and have to pay as little as possible, it's not going to happen here; We gave you some ideas, now go use them.

Pin 30: Connects to battery post
Pin 87: Connects to each headlight with a 10 Amp fuse on each lead before the light
Pin 85: Connects to turn signal +
Pin 86: Connects to turn signal -

Then unhook the factory headlight wires....

the relays sound scary but honestly its the cheapest, fastest, and easiest way to accomplish your goal. go pick up two SPSTs (The relay described in denous post, spst standing for single pole single throw) at advance auto. if you need me to take some photos or anything like that let me know, im doing quite a bit of electrical work on the balt right now too.....car-audio wise though

I was just thinking, why not spend a few more dollars and just buy two signal light relays? Then you wouldn't have to tap into your wiring for the signal lights and you could just turn them on and off from the inside of the car with a switch.

the problem with trying to do **** the cheap way is when you **** it up and end up having to pay out your ass to fix the wires and the rest of the **** you burned out by doing it it ends up not being so cheap.

a headlight wiring harness wont be a cheap replacement when you burn it out ****** with tapping into wires to run lights that will get hot and burn out just my .02

Well if it's properly fused before it goes into the factory harness, what exactly is the issue? As long as you're not exceeding the wires amperage capabilities, I don't see the issue; And you're not going to exceed the capabilities of the harness because it's not drawing any more power than it would otherwise.

For the back up lights, I would say do the exact same thing as the front just with the reverse lights.
