Ok so it's 12:20 am right now, I'm getting ready to go to bed. When I wake up, it's time to start on this project. I'm gonna tackle a box for the Diamond Audio D9 12 that is going in. Nothing special, just a 15x17x14 mdf box sealed with liquid nail. It will get me through for now, but soon I will be puttin in an order to gately audio. I'm getting a 15x17x14 box made out of plexiglass. Should be sweet. So this thread is basically going to be the journal for what happens with this install.

AGENDA:

BUILD TEMPORARY SUB ENCLOSURE
BUY AMPS (D31000.1 and D3400.4)
INSTALL AMPS, D9 AND DIAMOND AUDIO M561 COMPONENTS
BUY PIONEER AVIC D3
ORDER PERMANENT ENCLOSURE FROM GATELY AUDIO

Ok so I got about another 2 grand to spend on this whole thing excluding an amp kit or two. Possible that in the future I may go to two D9's and another D31000.1 but for now I'm sticking with one of each to see where I'm at. Stay tuned?

 

if your going with a GA box i would test tons of different sizes before you buy the final one

 

ya i know, i'm really skeptical on that right now. I really want one and I'm gonna go down and check them out with my D9. But I am going to a shop tomorrow to see about doing flat walls to mount my amps on with a 15x17x14 box all out of MDF wrapped with dark grey carpet to match. I think it may be more cost effective.

 

do you have an ultimate electronics near you.. go there and make them build one.. trust me its worth the money,,, i have 2 diamond d3s that they built and its great.... so i would go there..

 

I am going to a place called Rolling Sounds out of Stockton, CA. They do really good work. I'm gonna see what it's gonna run. The Gately box made out of plexi was lookin to be about 500 dollars. I'm gonna see what they can do for that.

 

Ok ya so a little update... Parents shut me down today, I have to store away two car payments before I can buy any more ****. So after I do that which shouldn't take too long. I'm gonna get the AVIC, then the amps. I can't wait any longer.
