Hey guys which wiring harness?

yo i just got my pioneer avh4000p double din screen, the steering wheel interface to use factory steering wheel controls, and a rear view back up camera built into a license plate frame. i can not get ahold of the wiring harness for the radio nor the double din dash kit. i have went to 3 best buys and 3 local audio performance stores, but no one seems to know which harness it is. do yall know? i know its going to be expensive, but i dont want the cheap crap cobalt-addiction sells that wont let me use drive info. and the warning chimes. and just fyi, i dont have onstar. i know there is 2 schosche i believe is how you spell it that one states gm vehicle 2000 and up for $109.99 and another schosche that is $149.99...anyone know if these work? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

Theres as FAQ at the top of the Electronics/Audio/Video section, General Stereo FAQ, this should answer a few questions for you,
FYI It sates in the FAQ that 06's dont loose the chimes since they are not connected to the stereo in any way, and the harness you need is a Metra = 70-2103, it should only set you back $20.00, read the section before you do anything, it will save you from making a mistake or three

wow awesome dude thanks. i was told that harness would work, but i would lose my driver information center and the door chimes....also if it is stated that you wont lose those, then why would cobalt-addiction have that posted on their site?

They must be talking about the 07's, mines a 07 and I had to get one of the GMOS-LAN 04's (175.00) But I couldn't stand the door chimes/signal clicker, it was embarrassing, you could hear my seat belt warning across a mall parking lot and the turn signal sounded like someone was stuck under my car banging for me to stop. You can ajust it but it also turns down the volume of the stereo so I had to hurry my plans to amp up the front end to get around it. I still hurry to put my belt on as soon as I get in the car to avoid the chime, I guess I could have a worse habit

no they dont. i work at best buy and i looked it up in our system and we have carried it since november of 2006. i also stopped at circuit city today and he told me he didnt know about the 70-2103 but the xsvi2103 is the one thats supost to work ..so im kinda of lost but that was the only place that had an available harness that was positive it did work so i had him order me one and itll be here in a couple days. cost 59.99 plus tax...and i also looked on installer.com and it was the same exact harness. so it should work fine

I looked it up at sonic electronics, the 70-2103 is only 19.99, but the 70-2103t is 49.99, the product description for the "t" says its a factory relocation harness, this allows you to relocate your factory HU. Now heres where I ran into a problem I tried to look up the "t" at Metra, no such luck, they say there is no product that matches. In any case make sure there is no "t" at the end of yours . Heres a link to the page at at sonic, with both adapters.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/searc...=15&Submit.y=4
BTW- THe one without a "t", according to Metra is for sure the one you want, and should only cost 20.00, I could be wrong but if your paying 59.00 I think you have the wrong one, better safe than sorry

yea, well supposely there is 2 types. a 70-2103 and a XSVI2103 which is supost to be one with a digital interface?? im so confused because when i looked up the 70-2103 in my system at work it said it was for a 2006 chevy cobalt with the pioneer system. but the guy i talked to at the circuit city roadshop says its the 70-2103.

oh and why the heck is shipping $16.00 for UPS ground on that wiring harness?? thats ridiculous

ok i just did some more research and found out that the 70-2103 harness does work with the 06 cobalt, but disables all the door and warning chimes. im not looking into doing that...man im lost.

I just found the XSVI2103 on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/METRA-XSVI-2103-...2em118Q2el1247
and it also says that you will lose the driver info center. but i thought in the 05 and 06s it wasnt done through the radio, only in the 07s???

I have the 70-2103 in my 2006 Cobalt SS, works fine, you DONT lose your chimes or DIC.

Search ebay, you can find it for less than $20 shipped.

well that one is set up easily for the 7 speaker pioneer system and has an black box connected to it. Me and a couple of other members use it and my complete 7 speaker system works fine but that one you want for 10 bucks will work just got to make sure you run a power wire to the factory amp so it will work if you have it

If your that worried about loosing your chimes there is an add on chime kit you can buy, don't know how much it costs but....Not to fuel the fire , but I know the guys at best buy tried to sell me one, Scosche makes it I think, but I live in the frozen tundra to the north so maybe it's different here (product supplies) All else fails Ebay will have it

dont worry about the chimes... the gm lan harness for 125ish sounds like ass and if you have an 06-05 they are unaffected. Just buy the cheap harnesses and be done with it. Best buys normally order 500+ from metra a month so just go down there with the part number and be nice and you will get it. or do ebay crutchfield whatever no one is hording harnesses that i know of
