HID Newbie...

Hey guys I'm going to be getting some gen 4 projectors and want to get an HID kit on there.
here's the projectors:
DEPO Projector Headlights 05-10 Cobalt - Lights & Bulbs

Will I need to buy special bulbs for HIDs?
I want to get some 8k HIDs, is there a kit i can buy that has EVERYTHING i need?

thanks guys! i know nothing when it comes to hids so teach me a couple things!
also! how hard are these going to be to install.....?

You'll need an hid kit which would consist of bulbs and ballasts. Get a relay harness as well which wires up to the fuse box post. You'll need an H7 kit.

H7 is the bulb size for High beams and low beams.

BuyHIDs.com sells kits and DDMtuning.com sells kits. ^And what he said about the relay^

Get slim ballasts if you want, they're just smaller, but don't really do anything else. and yes, DO get the relay harness. so yes, you're right.

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning
here is a equally good kit with harness, and free lifetime warranty from ddmtuning. its hella cheaper 2
The harness is recommend for most cars but ours dont really need it. ive ran my 6k kit for two years without a harness and only during extreme cold did i ever experience the lights cut off just after turning them on. but that only happened maybe 3 times otherwise no problems at all. the kit is just as good as buyhids and its cheaper. no reason to spend the extra cash when you can get it somewhere else with a free lifetime warrenty

the link takes you to the page you need to be at, basically it depends on what color bulbs you want. if you want bright ass white, 35watt 5000k h7 bulbs. if you want **** nuts bright white, 55watt 6000k h7 bulbs. and get the relay harness if you want it, its up to you, its not necessary, but recommended. our cars dont really need it. but since you will be running 4 bulbs instead of 2 you might wanna go ahead and get the harness.

I went ahead and bought the kit with 8k HID bulbs, ordered the harness anyway. I stuck with 35 watt because I'm going to be running the stock reflector housings (reason for picking 8k and 35 watt, lower light output *puts flame suit on*) for awhile. Thank you for the reply!

^x182731629376109283750987216437856012 lol you will never go back. hids are so much better now that they have grown so much cheaper in the last few years. looking at quality, brightness, and longevity. halogens are pos's compared to hids.

good choice on the 8k, i wanted that instead of 6k but i didnt want the lights not be as bright(before i knew how bright they really were). now i wish i had got them. true they arent as bright as 6k or 5k but i promise they are a million times brighter than standard halogen.
