HID questions..

So I bought my car with HIDs and one of them is burnt out. and the other is dimming. Can I just buy bulbs or do I need to buy an entire kit? Doesn't matter if I have to buy a new kit, I'd probably go with brighter ones anyways. Just wondering

Depends if its the bulb or the ballast that is causing the issue
best way to check is to swap the bulbs side to side and see which the issue stays with

Oh geeze.

Yes we can diagnose your car over the internet with almost no other info besides a HID problem.

If you want a fix that takes zero effort. Hire a mechanic.

They're probably just a cheap eBay kit. Just get a new kit.

I swapped around my bulbs and it's for sure the blub. So I went ahead and ordered some new ones. Went with 8000k this time over 6000k

8k isn't going to be brighter than the 6k, just so you know.

this

the higher the K the bluer the output
If you were looking for it to be brighter you should have gone with a 5000K or 4300K bulb

5 and 6k bulbs are the brightest. 4300 are more for fog lights and are generally illegal for headlights as are technically anything over 6k because of the color.

Negative ghost rider. 4000-4300k is the range most OEM models use and the highest lumen output. 3000k are the yellow tint people like to use for foglights. 6k is about pure white slight color shift at the cutoff. Above 7000k they start turning blue

Amazon Amazon
I bought these thinking they would just fit but they don't and I don't know why. They work but simply wont fit into the stock assembly. Where can I find the right replacement?

The bit below the glass on the bulb itself. It's simply just too wide to find into the housing.
