HID relay harness problem
my HID relay harness from 3BSpec came in yesterday and on the 9007 connector there is a white and black lead coming off of the pins on the left and right sides. what do i do with these? do i splice them into my highbeams or what? thanks.

whites are the positives for your LEDs, they splice into the brown on your harness... all blacks splice into the black on the harness
reds are the positives for your halos, they can be joined in with the whites when spliced into the brown... have a good look for the brown wire to because its really really dark and can look like the black... and i DONT mean the orange.

ok apparently u ppl have no idea what im talking about. this has nothing to do with the halos and led's. this is a relay harness stricktly for the HIDs to power them directly from the battery instead of giving them power through the stock headlight wiring.

I have a 3bspec harness
If I remember correct they only have one harness for both the bi-xenon and regular kits.
If you have a bi-xenon ballast there are two wires that come off of it that control the up and down motion of the bi-xenon kit. Thats where those two wires would connect to.
Since you don't have the bi-xenon kit then tape them off and hook th rest up.
Red goes to the post in the fuse box
Black goes to the bolt that says "ground" on it on top of the shocks (might want to sand the paint off where the loop is going to sit)
The rest should be plug and play, one part of the ballast hooks up to the harness the other to the bulbs themselves. I think there was only one blue connector on those kits, I hooked it up on the side closest to the power source (drivers side)
If you have any more problems/questions, PM me and I'll send you some pics, Ive changed my housings and kits so many times now, it only takes like 3 mins to take it apart

i tried wiring in the relay harness tonight and i failed miserably. i dont understand it. everything ive tried doesnt work. i dont know what the hell im doing wrong. i followed 3b's instructions and it didnt work. im so ****** pissed right now. i got tired of ****** with everything and ripped it all out and threw my stockers back in. oh and to top it off when i was pulling out the dr side headlight the little tab on the bottom of the housing that slides into the slot on the bracket broke and now theres a giant hole in the housing. apparently i need a professional to do this **** for me cuz i cant figure it out.

take a pic of what you mean by leads coming off the pins of the 9007 connector and I'll help you out. did the 9007 male connector come pre-installed? what other connections are on this harness, negatives, solenoids, etc...?
...took a look at the installation instructions on their website.
First off, I would splice a female spade connector to the red (positive lead) and connect that to an open spade in the fuse box under the hood.
Second, the black bolts that bolt the black headlight buckets to the car are a good place to mount the ring terminals for the negatives. But put the ring terminal underneath the plastic headlight buckets so that it has direct contact to the body.
Third, assuming you have the HID bulbs installed and connected to the ballasts, connect the positive and negative ballast wires to the harness.
Then all you have left is the 9007 connector. Assuming it is already connected and there are leads coming off of two of the pins... get a lead coming off the third pin. The reason for this is that the configuration of those 3 wires is not the same for every vehicle. Now you are going to want to try different combinations until the low beam and high beam work properly.
I am assuming your trouble is with the last step and getting the correct combination. Be careful though as the wrong combination can blow high/low beam headlight fuses... so either use a bug tester or just have a few spare 15A fuses handy.
Hope that helps.

X2 ^^^ Do you have a pic? I tore apart my buddies 3rd Gen. Headlights & I couldn't get it to work, but we took it to somebody that did fix it, so Post up a picture!

Ok, so I haven't responded to my own thread b/c i got pissed and stopped caring for a while but now I care again and want to get this **** fixed. I hate my stupid stockers now. so here's a pic of what the 9007 socket looks like on the relay harness I got from 3bspec.
as for the relay:
pin 30 goes to power
pin 85 goes to the black wire u see on the bottom of the 9007 socket u see there
pin 86 goes to the blue wire in the middle of the 9007 socket
pin 87 goes to each plug for my HID ballasts (power im assuming)
Does all of this sound correct? What in the hell are the black and white leads coming off of my 9007 socket for? I'm so confused

That was my guess as far as the 9007 connector goes but I still want to know how the relay is supposed to be wired. Somebody here has to know.

85 goes to positive of ur low beam when switched on. 86 grounded to chassis, 87 to power on the hid, 30 to battery.
and ground the other wire from HID to chassis.
or vise versa for positive and negative on hid, if i run a long wire id want it to be ground not positive incase of a short...i hope i have helped...cuz every automotive relay ive bought has those numbers 85-86 are primary circuit, 87 30 are secondary circuit.
plus u didnt need to order a harness 2 automotive relays at ur local car parts store would have done just fine

Thank you ThiZo_19! after really looking at the relay harness and double checking everything i realized that the 9007 socket was pinned incorrectly. the ground and low beam were swapped. same thing on the relay. and as i was installing the harness and come to find out that the socket to power the ballasts were also pinned backwards. so that makes 8 incorrect pins out of 11 total. WAY TO GO 3BSPEC! im sure that'll be the last time i ever buy anything from them. thanks again ThiZo_19 you kick ass!
