I don't know if your going to fit a 15 in there even with the back seats out. If you want to just take the upper part off, theres pins where the pivot point is on the sides of the seats . If you want to take the whole thing out theres 4 bolts that hold it in 2 of which are visable the other two are right under the seat in the back

Maybe I'm missing something but...
If you're talking about a Cobalt and all you want to do is pull out the sections that fold down, THAT'S EASY.
There are cliptabs on either side when you fold them down. All you have to do is push those towards the outside of the car and pull up on the section you're trying to get out.

Yea what he said, very easy, just look to the side of the seat where they hinge, push the clip, pull up, slide out. PIE!!!

The question is, Are you going to be able to shoe horn a 15" sub and box in there without removing that metal bar at the bottom? If you have to remove the whole seat then those two bolts that sit under the actual seat are a bitch to get out and worse to get back in, and even if you do get them out and get the side parts out from under the plastic without damaging it, then you either have to only pull it out a few feet or rip the whole power wire from the battery out because it runs right through the middle of that bar.

When I had a box with 1 12" in the trunk just removing the seats by the clips didn't give me enough clearence, I had to take the seats/bar out to get it in (and out), so I'm guessing if you want to attempt to get a 15" in there the whole seat is going to have to come out.

like spun said ur probably gonna have to rip that metal bracket out to fit the box in. I forget how hard it is to take out because ive done it a million times.

fyi the max dimensions of the opening are around 30X16

un bolt it and work it out. Its tight but it has to go in after the trim panels, hence removed first) trust me
