How would I hook up this capacitor?

I know you run the power from your battery into the cap then out of the cap into your amp. and I know you gotta ground the cap to a ground (not the same as the ground your amp is hooked up to..)

Is that all i gotta do? Why is there two positive terminals and two negative terminals? Thanks for any info...

here's a pic..

so two positive, one from battery > cap then from cap >amp

but the negative? both to negative on the chassis?

i have the sam cap, ill post a pic tomorrow of it. 1positive goes from battery to cap 1 goes from cap to amp. that covers the two positive.

then one negative from the amp to the cap,and one negative from the cap to ground.

honestly i bought the cap because i got it used for 25$ from a friend. i liked the way it looked. it lights up bluejsut like the rest of my car. im planning a custom trunk setup with fiberglass and what not, so this was really for the cosmetics not for the real need for a cap.

I have an L7 pushing running of a 1000watt kicker rms amp. the cap does NOTHING!
lol it really doesnt do anything, your better off getting an upgraded battery. AnOptima Yellow Top battery will do wonders. tey are ****** sick. you should really look into getting that if the dimming lights is really getting on your nerves.

i mean if you have the sub down real low, yes it willstop the dimming lights, but once it gets pumping, it does squat.

well im only running a pioneer 760 watt amp. along with two jl w3's. so my system doesn't require as much power as yours. hopefully this cap will be all i need for now.

You can get more useful Joules out of a battery than a Capacitor. There is so much stored energy that you lose and can not use in a capacitor. Capacitor full drained will go to 0 volts. But your car audio dont go that low. A 12volt battery will go down to 10volts drained. You also have to consider the ESR (a resistance) causing (heat) the voltage drop you get out of a capacitor. If you are at 14 volts at cap and you draw 100 amps with a ESR of .017 (about normal) you have a voltage drop of 1.7volts.

well at night my headlights still dim a little but not as bad. i have my amp turned all the way down. no bass boost, no nothing. my system hits hard too. during the day, i can pound the **** outta my speakers with this new cap and i dont have to worry about my gauges cutting off then coming back on anymore lol. next step is a yellow top or something of that nature.

ill take a pic of my set up later today

^ you will be really happy with an extra battery. yellow tops are good. It would be better than the Cap.

i was told by the guy at advance auto parts that the optima yellow tops wouldnt fit where the stock battery goes, do u guys change out the battery, or just hook up the yellow top straight to the amp and keep the stock batt.
