Info center a goner?? help

Question Info center a goner?? help

just got a in dash dvd unit. Guys at crutch field are telling me that if i install this that my info center will no longer work. is there anyone who knows from experience if this is true? they do sell a dash kit that retains the info center, but its a $179 for it. help me out guys.

They lied i installed my cd player and everything still works. Door chimes and DIC stil works jus like the day i bought it.

Thanks for you reply I'd like to be sure before i go ahead and get it done. so if anyone else has an experience with it, hit me up. a pic of both working wold be appreciated. they also were saying that the stock amp would need to be bypassed and would not work anymore.

i used the 7$ wire kit an dash piece, all u need is a power wire an grond beside whats used by the wire kit

I second it, I hoked up a aftermarket player and I even have the 7 speaker pioneer system, and all my crap still works, I had a little trouble with it but thats cause I forgot to hook up 1 wire. dont belive crutchfield cause they told me the same thing about the amp bypass bull ****. go for it, you'll be alright.

Most GM cars with DIC's have it built into the radio. That's probably what they were assuming, but our cars have them built into the gauge cluster.
