I purchased a 2008 cobalt lt sedan that does have power windows and locks but no remote starter. Is there a way I to install factory remote start on my cobalt? I talked to my local dealer and they said there is no kit avaliable for the cobalt and I need to do some research on it. I can get the oem key fobs with remote start for my cobalt off ebay pretty cheap but thats all I know about installing a factory remote starter. THANKS!!!

cobalts have a remote start option now? what year did this start?

 

to be honest i woudlnt go oem for the remot starter. i have it on my car and i have had to go to the dealer two times for it so far. the thing that keeps happing they say is there is a hood switch sensor that sees if the hood is closed or not and it gets gummed up with crap and stuff, then it wont work. they replace it under warrenty but still its not even a year old and its been replaced twice. i think you would have better luck withaftermarket.

 

I don't know but my gf's 09, she got remote start.. I forget how much the option was...

 

my car is a 08 and it has it i think the 08 were the first but im not 100% sure 07 might have it too

 

all GM remote starts are is the 2 remotes, possibly a hood switch, and a controller flash.

 

My parents 08 Torrent didnt come with remote start, but for Christmas my dad bought it for my mom. All it is I believe is 2 remotes and a reflash at the dealership. It can be done the same way on a Cobalt.
