Interior lights! Wtf!?

ok.. so today at work i went on break and when i got back i guess i SOMEHOW left my door half open in my car ha. dont ask how i did it. but i did. i wasnt told by anybody until 4 and a half hours later by somebody ha. so i was leaving and got in the car and just for the **** of it tried to turn the floor lights on. they dont work... i dont even know if its related to my door being left open but it might be and im pretty sure it worked before then.

first off, this is the kit i have.
Red 2pc Expandable LEDGlow LED Interior Lights Lighting Starter Kit
i have them wired by splicing the cigarette lighter under the hvac controls. i sliced that wire and wired them that way. i also have my police radar thing plugged into that so i figured aw i blew the fuse. but the weird thing is that the radar thingy still works plugged into it still and also the controller to turn the led's on has a little red light that turns on when its on and that light works. so its obviously getting power. so im confused.. if anybody could help let me know. it has a year warranty so itll be covered anyways.. but if i can fix it id like to.

did you fuse the wire to the LEDs as well?

its running straight off of the cigarette lighter wire and fuse. if u click the link in my original post youll see the kit i got. ha im lost. the only thing i can think of is the led's blew somehow together. ha or the little box with the usb ports blew somehow. because the remote is still getting power from the cig lighter but no light. so it must lead further up where the problem is.

If your cig lighter is still functioning then the only other explanation would be the lights themselves, a loose ground/power connection into the car, or the "remote box" itself. Check to see if your connections are loose, if not, one of the pieces of hardware for your kit are bad in which case you should probably just invest in a new one.

well thats good to hear, but it honestly sounds like your box or lights went bad...test your lights separately though...hook them up to a 12V battery and see if they light up. If you don't mind not having that box that came with the kit and the lights work but the box doesn't, just run the power wire for the lights through a switch and you're good to go.
