You guys really do not understand the workings of a website. A single post with a hyperlink and some text is not going to bog down the server. Its people who post 7 straight posts with the maximum number of pictures, whichb just happen to be hosted on the same server. Thats what hogs bandwidth, not these silly little posts.

Sigh...lines of text take of little in terms of storage and thus also take up little in terms of bandwidth use. If a spam thread it not being viewed at all, which they probably aren't once they disssapear into the abyss, then its not really using any of the server resources besides that little bit of memory.

However a post that contains say 40+ photos, that have a file size of say 100 KiloBytes each, will most certainly cause the server to slow down. Even what we're doing right now, is not really wasting that much of the servers resources. The best method to fix these slow dows are to require hosting on a different server like imageshack and photobucket, as shitty as they both may be at times. I have hosted and will continue to host any photos I post on my own piece of the internet.
