well no, you can charge the battery. but once the battery stops holding a charge you will have to get a new one. i love my iPod i dont know what i would do without it. but if you get one dont waste your money on the iPod video, you can only watch a video for like 15 minutes then the battery dies. but not a waste of money if you listen to music a lot.

I have one w/ Video. I love the fact that I can store 30GBs of music on mine. If you have a mp3 player in your car, home, etc., you probably wouldn't need it, as you are able to store 200-300 songs on a cd to listen to...just my opinion.

As far as battery life goes, I guess that depends on how much you listen to it. I've had my ipod for about 8 months now, and haven't recognized any severe issues. I don't know how much of a pain it is to actually get the battery replaced. So I guess I'm missing out on the fun.

I'm highly disappointed that I cannot find a way to hook it up directly to my 2006 Cobalt. And since I don't have an mp3 player dash, I am forced to use an FM transmitter for my car, which sucks.

For the 2007 model Cobalt tho, there is an auxiliary port to hook it up to (better & clearer sound than an FM transmitter).

I pods are pointless now that cell phones come with I-tunes. You can hold 100 songs. It's an I pod you can talk on.

yeh and not have the massive accessory market that the ipod has. the battery lasts 4.5 years or so with heavy use of charging and recharging. light use you should be good for a long long time. i have a 60gb ipod video and mp3 cd's or not its good to have 2000 songs and not have to change if i keep my techno and rock or orchestral music on seperate cd's

i couldnt live w/o my ipod, but i do understand why alot of people dont like them. One thing that i know about battery life is, your not supposed to keep it fully charged all the time, supposedly its healthy to let ur ipod run low and then fully recharge the battery. Its supposed to make the batteries last longer since theres not always a constant charge there to fry it. I guess it works, ive had my ipod video for a year and works perfect. any way just a suggestion

I have an ipod nano and i love it!! I used to have a RCA Lyra but i used it so much i was goin through like 2 batteries a week so i thought what the hell spend the extra money and get an ipod. I am waiting on my 07 SS S/C to get here and it will be great to have that AUX port so i can just plug it in and not have to worry about burning CDs. I have had no problems with my battery on the ipod at all and i was lookin on apple's web site and i notice that you can mail your ipod and send like 65 bucks and they will replace your ipod battery and send it back. More cost effective then paying another 200 bucks for a new ipod. Go here to check out how to replace your battery......

I have a 60gb Ipod with video (that i never use) in my car it's a great replacement for CDs and right now i can listen to any of my 25oo plus songs ant teh touch of a button. or make driving playlist for long trips.

I have a fm thing for the cobalt and it sounds just as good as radio quality. and my friends even pick up the signal when driving closly or parked in a lot.

i like my ipod i have it as an mp3 player/video/picture player. I then partictioned the other half of the ipod to a back up hard drive so now when ever i go i have all my files with me. also theres a way you can download music from your ipod to other computers. ive got some fun ways to do stuff with ipods. when i was in school i had all my games on my ipod so i can play them at school

If you have the money nothing beats apple's technology when it comes to an mp3 player. The I-POD is so versatile. My buddy take his wherever he goes and whenever a party breaks out he is armed with every song on the planet. I-pods can connect to virtually anything. I don't have $300 for something like that so I bought a 2gb mobiblu. Pretty sweet it is a 1 inch x 1 inch cube mp3 player that you wear as a necklace. For me it worked perfectly because I run on a treadmill and the IPOD wasn't comfy on my arm.

the reason to let it drain all the way before you recharge it is that the batteries have a memory. if you frequently let it only get down to half way then recharge it, the halfway point becomes the 0 battery point because thats all theyre used to seeing. and they have a 2gb blu??? i thought it was only 512mb and 1gb. ive wanted one for so long but they only sell them at wally world and i dont shop there if i can help it.

i dont shop there either. They are an exclusive item though so I got it from walmart.com

i paid 119 for the 2 gb. This little unit almost gets as many looks as the SS. Also it can be used as a thumb drive. You can store any file on it. xml, html, pdf you get the point.

well, I have had several ipods over the last few years (shuffle, mini, and now I have a 30 gig video) and I like the fact that I can carry my entire music colleciton with me because I like to study with classical or easy listening music. Also, I seem to find myself in places where I need to wait a lot, so music comes in handy. My car has xm, so I dont listen to it in the car, but pretty much everywhere else I go. At $300 for the 30 gig version, it is a big investmen, at least for me (poor college student).

You guys still haven't said why the Ipod is any better than the other mp3 players. Accessories? wtf accessories could you possibly need?

Talking

i've got the last year on the mini's. green 6GB.

my only flaw is... that i use it on the job alot... so it gets beaten up quite a bit.

it works perfectly. i never use head phones with it though. as i have a complete after market system in my cobalt. so i went and picked up the ipod interface for my clarion DXZ545MP... i know i have to much money. lol

most will answer 'cus its apple' like its some kind of omni god. I have listened to music on each one cus of the tards that i know that have em and they sound good at first cus what the hell would I compare it to. then after listening to direct competition i can say that the ipod sound like monophonic speakers when stereo speakers came out.
