I'm excited too!. I descided to have a local shop here do the install. I figured I'd be alot happier with a professional install, rather then risk screwing something up installing it myself. Yes it is compatable with the GPS, however I did not buy that option. Yes I did buy the harness to keep the steering wheel controls. I also baught a back up camera so I can finnaly see where I'm backing up to. I wonder if USAA will give me a discount for that.

It's great I love it!
A few querks with it though. Occasionally It would error on the backup camera when going to reverse. The only way to clear the error is to turn the car off, open the door then start it back up again.

Also if you go into reverse right away after starting, like to back out of your driveway, when you go to First to go straight it turns the radio off.

Other then those querks, I love the thing! It's been great!

Also, only the Volume up, and down, and search forward and backward steering wheel controls work.

For the price seems like a good radio still! Where'd you mount the back up camera at?

Just pulled the trigger on the GPS today. Should be here this week sometime wich is awesome!

I wonder if I can replace the stock XM Antenna with the GPS one, or even use the XM for the GPS?

Also steering wheel buttons DO work,
Except that "Band" and "1 - 6" are swapped. I should be able to just swap some wires to correct that though. Also the source and mute buttons are not functional

I hope I can get this installed in time for me to use it to go to my sister's wedding in Orlando in April.

Right above the rear liceence plate!

I need to get a new plastic peice for it, since it had a few accidents with the garage door. I think some one didn't drive his car far enough into the garage before closeing the door a few times.

I would have posted that under "Lounge" instead of "Electronics, Audio, and Video"

There is a how to on your cobalt to adapt the onstar GPS wire to your radio. I was considering doing it with my Avic D3.

How far does your backup cam stick out if you hit it with the garage door!?

Not far at all. Its pretty much flush... with the farthest back part above the licence plate.

You can see it above the plate below the trunk lock. Just above the "B" in "ALABAMA"

Couldn't help but notice your hitch mounted rack... Does is curve under your bumper? I have a hitch on my LS and plan on getting a SC or TC this summer- was just wondering how it was working out for you! I'd hate to not be able to transport my bikes.

Thanks!
