Jensen BT1611i

I am looking to buy a headunit and the Jensen BT1611i seems to have the features I need for a good price. The problem is that I can't find the RMS and Peak and that sort of info anywhere for this unit.

So what do you guys think about this unit and does anyone have the specifications?

Thanks.

Well, if it just plain sucks....I could look for a new one. Not looking to spend a load of money, so I prob can't afford any good touch screen ones.

Any suggestions on good head units?

Aight so pretty much you can't get a headunit for under 150$ dollars that is not gonna be shitty? Gonna be more expensive that I thought, but better than having to replace or be bad quality. Also, this is not for car shows, it is for daily use.

no you can get a radio better then that for cheaper. its all about what features your looking to buy. you dont need to fork over 700 for a radio.

tell me what u need and what you want and how much ur looking to spend and ill find u a good radio. Kenwood and pioneer are the two i recommend

BTW pioneer premier is gone as of 2010. only pioneer now

i had a jensen vm9312. i remember reading that even though it says 200 watts total power your only getting 22.1 watts a speaker. kinda like how the speaker says 400 wats total power but you wanna keep at at 200

power in radios is the same on every one you get. they all have the same half ass amp inside. the only difference is on the better units like pioneer kenwood alpine ect its better quality and more controlled (for better sound) but the power is the same

a few radios used to come with an extra 5w or something but thats gone by the wayside nowadays so anything "new" will not have any extra power

Well looking nice would be great, but the biggest thing it needs is the iPod direct control and just one that will give great sound. Currently I am running everything stock in a 1998 Cavalier Coupe....waiting to buy a Cobalt but gonna get a sound system in the meantime and switch it out when I get the Cobalt.

I don't know if that would cause problems trying to find one that works with both models of car.

damn clicked the wrong button and my paragraph disappeared... here's a summary

no bluetooth: pioneer DEH-3200UB (cheapest radio with a highpass)

bluetooth: Kenwood KDC-BT645U (pioneer bluetooth is bullshit to pair)

both have usb/direct ipod control as well as 35mm aux in

For Bluetooth...you have to pay for that right?

Sorry for this...I am new to the whole car tuning thing since I just recently started making money haha.

no. the only thing bluetooth is is a wireless connection with another device normally your phone. It usually just lets you make and recieve calls with the radio (meaning hands free to some extent and cuts the music and plays thru ur speakers) now every once in a while you can get bluetooth audio where u can play music from ur phone on ur speakers

Its a nice feature but you do have to pay for it (more expensive unit) BUT remember its always always cheaper to buy it in the radio then add it on later. so if you think u want it spend the 40 bucks now vs the 150+ later

Sounds pretty cool. Thanks so much for your help, you seem to know your stuff, and from lookin at your garage have a beast system yourself :-p.

You got AIM or anything? Cause I will have more questions but don't think I should make a new topic for every time.

P.S. The chatroom on here won't work for me.

Don't get me wrong, I have a Jensen headunit, but that one is garbo. Check out the vm9022HDN....its one i've got...i think right now they're around 450 now fully loaded. This guy's got NAV built in, bluetooth built in, HD radio module included, sd card spot, usb input, 2 aux ins, rear view camera, 8 band equalizer with sub polarity option and dynamic range control, ipod cable included (the pin one, not the bs 3.5 aux), divx capable, the list goes on.....that's bang for your buck. if you can't afford the 400 something trust emp on the pioneer DEH series...my sister has one and they're simple but reliable radios.

Jensen VM9312HD is the one my friend has and he is really pleased with it. I will most likely go with the Pioneer, but if I was going to consider the Kenwood I would spend the extra 50$ and get myself a Jensen VM9312HD. Reason I did not really consider the vm9022HDN is because when I just looked it up it is going for 620$ :-o!

One problem is that all these appear to be DIN 1's, and my Cavalier is a DIN 1.5....and I THINK Cobalts are the same?

oh **** you have a cavalier? what year? and i guess you're looking in the wrong spots for the 9022...but who knows they might have dropped that sale. but yea if you can't get a double din just go with the single din flip out...just make sure your heating and cooling vents aren't blocked by the flip out, thats why i got rid of mine.

So many things to take into consideration haha. Currently I am rockin' a 98' Cavalier coupe....gets the job done but doesn't really keep up with my friends Celicas, TCs, S2000s, and Tiburons lol.

So a Cobalt is a double DIN? I was hoping to get one that I can use in the Cavalier then switch to my Cobalt when I get one...gotta find a good deal haha.

P.S.

I did find the 9022 on Ebay refurbished for 300$ or 469$ new.

i think the cavi fits a double din but IDK. maybe only the newer ones. look it up on metraonline.com

oh and dont get a refurbished radio if u want it to last very long. We do repair at my work and for amps and subs (like reconing) is fine but i personally wouldn't do it on a radio

To me it looks like a double DIN would take out my temperature controls lol....but hey, I know nothing about this stuff.

And I just saw you logged off AIM, too slow for me haha!
