Just Installed 2 12" mtx thunder 4500 225 rms a piece

Ok so i just installed 2 12" mtx thunder 4500s with 225 rms a piece they are hitting so hard i have a question i want to keep my whole trunk setup mtx since im in love with the company now. Im running a lightning audio 4 channel amp my brother said its a 900 watt but i dont believe it and the rms is prolly horrible and a old phoenix gold amp theese amps are just seriously ugly and i need something better looking. So please post up what u would think the perfect mtx amp that would make theese subs hit like crazy and how much it would cost. I also need to buy some dynamat now. I got the 2 mtx 12 4500s in a carpeted sealed box for 200 bucks .; Im really digging theese subs!

421d amp... I have always loved MTX and have nothing but them. Mtx subs hit harder than anything I have heard. My 7500's HIT! And one 421d powers one real well. If you want a brand new amp, get a TA5604. 1800 watts peak

Either the 421d or the TA5604. Your best bet would be the TA5604. But Emperor knows all when it comes to audio.

Gawd Emp, Im scared to even know what you have if you have dual alternators...

lol i dont know all... either way just match rms of the subs and amp and youll be golden. The mtx D amps are awsome and honestly the only things i like from mtx.

Glad to hear your Happy with your purchase. I can express on how efficient and hard hitting bass you can get with MTX products. Since you bought the 4500 series, they don't need a huge amount of power. They are only 225 rms each speaker in so I wouldn't go with something to big unless you are going to upgrade in the future to the 5500 and up. But TA series amps are no longer available and are being replaced with the TE line which is a kick as amp and looks bad ass!!! It you are thinking about upgrading your subs in the future, I would get a litle bigger amp. I would recomment the TE601D and for a 4 channel you could go with the TE604. Both amps are the same size but if you would like a smaller 4 channel you could go with the TE404. ThisTHe TE601D is capable on doing 1200 watts at 1ohms but make sure you KEEP the gains down on the 4500's. I currently have all mtx products in my car and love it. Hit me up if you have any questions.

for what $$ is involved and what kind of subs, thats not bad at all. It's al about how much money your willing to spend, how far your willing to go, and if your competing for a title.

I don't compete anymore but back in 99 I had a car that hit 171.3 db's.. so it's all about how dedicated you are and how much money your willing to spend.

16 10's, 16 amps, 60 caps, 9 batteries, & 5 alternators.. in a 91 civic hatch back.

128 db is fine with me and im hoping to hit 140 when im done which is fine with me that hits hard enough. so yah and thank you mtxss im going to look into thoose amps great input man! we need more people like you on this website. We certainly dont need people who come into someones thread and post something that is a poke fun comment. didnt you ever hear from your mother if you dont have anything nice to say, then dont say it. I dont come to you saying oh a 4 door cobalt with stripes and videos of you doing donuts in dirt and a system that looks like butt is rofl. which in honesty it is hillarious i mean did you seriously learn that a car can lose control on dirt making it easy to do donuts from a NFS game? well that was fun needed to vent. Oh and may i suggest a subaru emblem and a hood scoop your next mods to do oh and a sti spoiler and you will be set for the dirt man. Thanks for the input guys.

sry for the late reply but i hardly ever get a chance to get online cept late at night... anyway ill hit you up with some amp suggestions in a bit but i was wondering if u ever planned on upgrading. and if you were interested in any refurbished amps? i work at a shop that refubishes amps and we have quite a bit of mtx in stock (theres a small flaw in most of the MTX amps so we get blown ones and beef up 3 parts and honestly there solid as a rock) Either way ill give u my recommendations when my brain isnt mush... FYI i didnt mean to sound like a dick but i had to tell bradsi a lil **** (lol i post after work so the ******* in me sometimes is still there)

i have 3 7500 10's...by mtx..its there superwoofer version. im about to buy an amp by mtx.but my box is a 4 ohm box and the amp that i was looking at will only send like 500 watts to them...the next size amp is the one that will push 1000 watts to them...but the mtx guy sys that i have to upgrade my alternator. he says i need a 200 amp alternator...i think rite now the stock one is like 75 amp. its a 1200 watt rms box and a 2400 peak box.

rms ratings on the 7500 is 400rms i believe... box's don't have ohm ratings but subs do and thats what u should be concerned with (match ohm with amp)

wow i was really happy to see this thread, cz back in september i bought a new system, and got mtx subs. I didn't see any talk about these subs on here, so i was getting worried that they were not good subs, good to know that there are other ppl who support MTX subs

my friends got two 15's that ****** hurt to be inside the car.. but thats a different story.

ive got two mtx thunder 5500s right now.. only getting half power.. so my systems at 300 rms... cuz of my weak sony xplod 720 watt amp.

but im gettin a rockford fosgate p6002 amp for christmas to get my system up to 600 watts rms.. check out that amp. its model p6002

Thats a nice amp your getting but I would go with the TE601D or the Xthunder 600XD. TE amp will have a built in amp and the xthunder doesn't. Either one will be ideal for the duall 5500.

if I have a choice in Amps, I would go with Rockford Fosgate products. (that p6002 would be a great choice) The only other thing I have had decent experience with was Alpine, but that was because of limited sized location. (the tiny RF's weren;t out yet)

I was hoping to try out some JBL amps but havent had a chance yet. I think one of you asked me about them actually. I am having a good return on a ancient Sony ES 5 channel, but would not suggest going (old and) Used for someone not really knowing what there after.
