Key Fob/Lights flashing

so my key fob stopped working. no big deal. just get a new one. but i noticed something about the car when the fob died. i had to use my key to unlock it of course, but when i opened the door, the quiet car alarm went off...im sure the loud one would have went off if i had not started the car. and there was one more thing, i replaced the battery in the fob but the problem was not fixed. but while looking at my car from inside advanced auto, my high-beams flashed once, and then flashed again like a minute later. does anyone know why that would be?

There are two potential issues for your key fob. 1) There is a metal clip that goes around the battery. This may have broken from the circuitboard. This is easily fixed with a competent solder job. Or, 2) The conductor on the back of the buttons has worn out. Some people glue aluminum foil to the buttons to fix it, but personally I think this is a bad idea and bought a new button pad for like $5 on Amazon.

Yeah. I just got a brand new key fob and just transferred the circuit board. So the whole thing looks and feel new lol and no need to reprogram.
