Kinetik HC1400

Hi, Im new here, I got a question, does anyone know if a Kinetik HC1400 will fit in the stock battery compartment of a 2007 Cobalt Lt, I measured it and it looks like it might be a bit too tall, but im not sure.
Thanks

You should be able to fit an 800 down in the spare tire well beside the factory battery. You can also lay the kinetiks on their side if necessary, it has been so long since i have seen an unmodifies spare tire well i forget what they even look like, lol. You may consider getting a more powerful main battery first and upgrading your wiring. Cobalts kinda have a crappy grounding setup. I'm not saying another kinetik won't help, just saying, do the big three upgrade first...

Just carefully remove the things that are in the way. You will have less time just getting things out of the way than trying to fish wires and stuff around all that crap. It's been a while since i did mine i can't remember if i removed anything or not.

So thats the wire going from the positive terminal of the battery to the under the hood fusebox?, with the red cover over it under the hood, is that the whole wire, is at a big job to replace that wire, would 2 gauge be large enough or should i go 1/0, thanks for all your help.

ya normally the bat is under the hood and the wire goes from the alt to the bat then a seperate wire to the fuse box. in the cobalt with the batt in the trunk the alt wire goes to the fuse box and then to the stock bat. replacing the stock alt to fusebox probably wont do as much as the hassle is worth. Oh and my theory with wiring is do the biggest you can afford/fit now that way you dont have to mess with it ever again. Its your decision thou.... 2g is ~half 1/0 so with the larger wire your capacity is doubled and the resistance goes down. 1/0 is obviously better but its also more expensive so in the end its up to you. Just dont get any copper clad aluminum crap. Ive never seen the point of even having it

So this doesn't fit? I read somewhere on here that some1 said it fits perfectly and Emperor said that it doesn't push on the tire cover.

I have 2 (1400's) and they fit perfectly into the well on either sid eof the trunk. Right where the stock sub would be and across from it.

I think the batt fits under where the stock one goes but thats before to attach the cables and put the bolt in, IDK I could be wrong though, it does seem a alot taller than the stock one

I measured stock battery (9.25 x 6.5 x 7) so the 1200 should fit for sure.

That's a sick setup. Did you have to get new wiring?

The only thing I had to do was shave a piece of metal off the floor where the stock battery was other than that it was easy
