I have a line out converter but im lost, where does the wire hook up at? It's 2 white wires one with a black strip, 2 grey wires one with a black strip and a black wire. The one i got didnt come with directions. Does someone how to hook this up???

 

white wire without black stripe- positive left speaker wire
white wire with black stripe- negative left speaker wire
grey wire without black stripe- positive right speaker wire
grey wire with black stripe- negative right speaker wire
black wire- ground, u dont really need this but i would use it to be safe

 

So where does the remote amp wire go?

And how do i know what wire is what in the stock unit

 

the remote amp wire should go to the back of ur headunit if its an aftermarket

if u have a stock headunit, run the remote wire to a fuse under the passenger side of the shifter

u dont run the line out converter to the stock headunit, u just tap into ur rear speaker wires, u can find these just kinda hangin in the trunk, im not sure which is which but i dont think it matters, CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG SOMEONE if it really matters

 

iight so i can leave the line out converter in the truck and still have bass?

 

what are u using the amp for? speakers or subwoofers

ok, so just tap into the wires, dont cut them

then from the line out converter, hook up ur RCAs to the amp very simple

nope, just run the remote wire to the fuse box which is on the passenger side below the cup holders and radio area

 

ok i just looked for wires right in the truck and i didnt see nothing. I only saw connectors with wires but i didnt see the colors i need, Which ones do i need?

the wires going to the speakers..... there might be some black fabric **** around them

 

Oh and it doesn't matter what wires I tap into? You talkin bout those wires that go in the speakers with the magnet facing down in the truck? What I put the right side of the converter to the right side of the speaker and the left to the left?

 

makes sense just strip a little of the wire and solder, or wrap around the line out converter wires to it, and tape it up

 

holy crappers... Tap the rear speakers for signal as shown in post 2. If you need wire colors there in the stickied in this section somwhere. If i remember chevies the negative rear colors are light blue and yellow. pos is dark blue and brown

Remote needs to be tapped on the inside fuse box on the passenger side. Ur going to want to use either the wiper fuse or sunroof fuse

bump 4 me tonight...

 

wow....so i did way more work to get my L.O.C. installled...i tend to do things the hard way though.
1. I removed the factory sub box
2. I took the factory sub out of the box disconneted the wires on each voice coil
3. then i attached the L.O.C. to the back of the the box and ran the leads inside the box through the little hole in the back of the box
4. I conected the left side and right side of the converter inputs to the two sets of speaker wires running in the sub box .
5. reinstalled the sub (not hooked up) and cover and then plugged my RCA jacks into the converter attached to the back of the box
6. bolted the box back in and ran the RCA behind the carpet and plug it into the amp.....and you never see a signal wire that wasnt already there

 

Lol all you had to do is buy 2/4 T taps tap the wires outside of the sub box unplug from the box itself and stuff behind the carpet. Not only is it faster but also you visually loose the wires going into the sub box.

 

im using a LOC on my pioneer amp, tried both using the rear speakers and sub and ain't getting crap. No sound, nothing, i even tapped in a bass processor which i figured would up the voltage of the signal and you guessed it nothing. What am i doing wrong? i have power to the amp

Test the VAC of the rcas to determine if your loc is actually giving output.

Got it!. the pioneer came with a harness that takes speaker inputs and turns them into rca's (not a LOC) and that got sound to the subs, but there was a lot of interference. I put the LOC back in and got a half a$$ quiet noise outta the subs. I grounded one of the rear speaker inputs to each and the signal was lost, did it to the other and nothing happened. I went as far as grounding the contacts on the LOC box for confirmation and sure enough, half of the LOC isn't working. Imma run down to the audio shop in a couple of days and buy a LOC from them.

 

so i bought an amp for my subs, but my headunit sub out is week, i have after market speakers/amp, i want my subs, where should i tap into i also have after market wiring to those speakers) where should i tap into, like what speaker, only one speaker? how does it get all the signal? its headunit>rca>amp>speakers

where do i tap into? the rca or the speaker wire from the amp?

please help i want some bass? what type of loc is right for me?
