A little Sound Deadening going on.

Gutted out my HHR Panel interior and have been adding Audio Barrier.

Just have the 3 doors left to do behind the interior panels.

The new Audio and Video system was just installed over the weekend.

Still need to build a custom amp rack and sub woofer combo that fits in the spare tire well in back.

A few pics of the it bare.

Next post will be pics of it all installed.

Working on recovering my light gray headliner with Black Suede and maybe Embossing a Spider in it as well. I added a Second dome light, seems GM forgot one in the Front of an '08 HHR Panel.

Not sure if I will use the Spider or not yet, or were to place it.

Heres a look at the material I will be using.

Thanks guys.
It is extra work and effort, but well worth it. Makes a HUGE Difference.

Makes all this sound even Better.

12" Pioneer TS-W3002D4

The Bandpass sub box wasn't working with the sub woofer so I bought the vented one and swapped the sub woofer into it and it now hits pretty damn Good.

Very pleased with my choices.

It isn't finished yet but getting there.

I still need to build a custom amp rack and sub box that hides in the spare tire well but can remove the floor cover to show it at car shows.

Ahh Good Eye.

No I need to get the Pioneer DEQ-P8000 5.1 Channel Digital Audio Processor, the P4200 head unit does not have 5.1 processing built in as I assumed it had.

You know what they say when you assume.

Gonna look for a Used one, they arent cheap New.

I wanted to mount that speaker overhead while I have the headliner out for when watching Movies.

Everything else is installed.
Including these in 9" and 7".

Got this for use in my garage and in the back of my HHR Panel for tailgating or any other type of outdoor partying.

Thinking about some kind of eye hook set up to hang it from when the rear hatch is open.
At the outter lower edge it will get full sun, so I was thinking of placing eye hooks just below the rear window so it's shaded from the sun during the daytime.

Still working on it.

I could just use this and set the TV on it with some straps, then place it face down inside in back for the ride home.

sorry no help from me as far as the vizio goes but gl and let us know how u do it.... i did know the pioneer didnt have 5.1 which is why i asked. idk how often u watch movies but i honestly never do. but since my kenwood has all of the outputs i have the center planing for normal music as well. i was going to ask how you were planning on hooking it up but the external processor makes sense. you may also want to look into a 3sixty.2 unit they have built in dsp processing. but after having mine since 06 im very ready to get rid of them for the new 3sixty.3 they have coming out. also word of advice with those headrests.... make sure to keep the recipts an box. ive seen more then id like of those tview headrests break

Tell me More, how much are you gonna want for it and when are you getting rid of it?

I just picked up a New in Box Pioneer GEX-P20HD from someone selling off some Pioneer stuff for $50.00 shipped. Will add a few HD Radio stations and hopefully up the broadcast sound quality. Waiting on that to arrive.

A look at my Temporary amp setup, the wires were left Long so it can be removed easily leaving it all still connected until I build the Custon sub box and amp rack built into the spare tire well.

Nothing fancy to look at right now, but it will be once the Custom work is done.

I did upgrade the terminals on the Temp. vented sub box, they used some really cheap ones.

Gotta get my ass in gear and get my doors all finished, been Slacking off a little while taking the Panel out and cranking up some good tunes.

Thanks.

Adding the Audio Barrier is an added expense, but if you like a Quiet car and a Solid feeling car, it is Well Worth the expense and the extra effort. It also helps the Audio Quality in your car.

Another HHR owner who actually helped me out with the wiring and hooking it up was Amazed at how mine sounds, or lack of sounds. Rap your knuckles on you HHR's roof in a few spots, mine sounds like a dead thud. No vibrations or noise in the rest of my Panel either.

I spent about $450.00 on the Audio Barrier, was truely worth it for what it does.
"Dynamat" would have cost alot More and actually is Thinner.

I bought 2 Bulk Kits, and will buy a "trunk kit" just to finish up the rear hatch

This is 1 Kits worth.

Coming from personal experience the box is what makes the sub. I had a Audio Que HDC315 in a cheap premade box. Then got specs from Audio Que for a 3 cubic foot box, and dear lord it was a day and night difference.... but thats just my 2 cents on pre made boxes

agreed but it depends on how well built the premade box is.... you cant really say all prefab boxes are **** but the chances of matching you sub to the perfect prefab are slim (still possible thou) but im pretty sure he is only using that box for now until he can get the custom stuff in order.

its a long story but im not sure my plans yet so im just waiting to see when the new 3sixty gets released. they have been working on it for a while now. rockford released info to the gen public about it in jan for ces and planned for the release in may then july then aug then april... so idk when its coming to be honest but probably not anytime soon. but as far as the dsp to get 5.1 idk how that works. theres alot of things that ive never "tried" and that is one of them

I hear those are highly sought after. $600.00-800.00 range. Seller ended the auction saying it was no longer available. I was waiting to place a bid at the last second but they pulled it.
One of the audio forums I visits sends out emails for good deals when spotted, making them never good deals because of the exposure.

I just got the Pioneer HD Radio module the P20 HD NIB for $50.00 shipped so I have that to add to my system soon.

Thanks for the heads up on that JBL unit. I'd like one, but not at $600.00 for one.

I got all my doors done and the interior door panels back on now.

You will need to cut or sand off the Expanded Foam Protrusions on the backs of the HHR door panels to reinstall them.
