To start, I have a 2007 Black Cobalt SS 2.4. I'm looking to upgrade the sound system in the car because the 7 speaker pioneer system is ok...but the car has more potential. I definatly want to subs in the back, probably 10's, along with that probably the 6x9's and the door speakers as well as the cd player. My delema though is the brand. Should I stick with Pioneer or should I go with a completely different brand? The only reason its an issue is because the car has the pioneer logo's in it and its what is advertised with the car. I'm just looking for some outside input on this issue, what is the better way to go?

My mods are in my sig. and I haven't changed the pioneer logo because I might put it all back in when I sell it.

 

its bnest to go with what sounds best. Some companies make great subs, but have horrible head units. Personally, I find that Pioneer makes awesome head units, and great subs and amps, but there speakers are not up to par. imo!! Alpine make great speakers and subs but are pricey. I guess my advice is to take your time and go for quality not looks.

 

if your one of those poeple who like everything all one brand, id go alpine, not my fav company but they do everything pretty well

if you dont mind mixing and matching

HU:eclipse , they make damn good HU's

speakers: Diamond audio , lil expensiver but great sound

subs,
if you like big booms, kicker is good at that
if you like crisper bass,and good booms: JL, Diamond ED

amps: if you can get old school fosgate amps, go that way, otherwise jl and alpine are high quality, power acoustic is a good bang for the buck

remember sub boxes play a major roll in how well your subs perform

 

only place you see the logos are on the tweeter pods and the sub box... if your planning on getting 2 10s then there goes the sub box so all you have is the pods. And thats really not that big of a deal imo so go with whatever brand you want.
