What harness did you use to wire up your stereo? I noticed you have an 07, just wondering if you used one of metra's gmos-lan adaptors.
And I'm guessing you have a sunroof, I have one too and i hate the fact there's no light for the back seats. If I throw anything back there at night it's gone unless someone has a flashlight lol.. or the sun rises.
I'm thinking of wiring one in, it wouldn't be too hard to splice into the lights for the r/v mirror, and I could control them from there I bet.

yeah i got the 07 cobalt lt... i got the map lights that are right under the rear view mirror and yeah i got the sunroof.... and no, i did not use the gmos lan adapter... i just used the basic harness for the G5, i believe. but yeah, it sucks not having the dome light, its dark as hell when night falls... i mite end up splicing the wires, fusing them, and running them to their own power source... not sure yet though.

seriously guys, the dome light goes where to sunroof is... so, sunroof = no dome light
If you have a sunroof your interior lights are built into your rearview mirror.

So basically when you push the switch under the mirror they dont turn on?
But when you open the doors & unlock them they still come on?
I would see if f33k could get you a diagram of the mirror

i will try to get that wiring diagram.. thanks for helpin my out reign
Naw, i didnt **** up anything... I just plugged it into the harness, unless the harness doesnt support it... Because the lights DO WORK, they just dont turn on when the doors are closed.... ONLY when the doors are opend..
Id start off by getting the right harness if i were you.The plugs might be the same, but the pins might be different. There are wires that go into the radio from the door pins. You know how the radio stays on till you open up the door?Maybe your getting a ground feedback going to that wire and causing the map light not to work?
Thats why i was wondering if anybody here knows what color the wires are for the map lights so i can fuse them off, and connect them directly since theyr only 12v... good or bad idea, what yall think? silver?
Personally I'd just get the GMOS-LAN harness.. I got mine off Ebay for like 100$ shipped.
Less headaches and less chances of frying something in your fuse panel or worse.
I can't remember if you said you have the pioneer system or not. If you do, you need the gmos-lan-04 to bypass the amp on the h/u (otherwise you're running your speakers through 2 amplifiers >.>); if you don't have the pioneer system, you need the gmos-lan-03.
Good luck whatever you try to do man

Loli'll figure something out, thanks though.
did u ground your amp to where there are wires around it. and by wires i mean car wires and not speaker wires.
i did that in a focus hatch and ended up everytime my bass hit my taillight would go to it. because the bolt i used was also a ground for the taillights
