my lights are dimmimng

i hope i got the right forum. when im at stop sign or stop light, my lights dim and come back up aftr i hit the gas one time. does any one know what might cause that?

That was my first reaction too.
The only reason I thought it would anything else would be due to the fact that there was no mention of a stereo
A powerful enough amp will destroy your alt, and over time drag as much of your electrical system as possible down with it
But the question still stands......

no eveyrthing is stock inside the car, no aftermarket electronics. i just cant think of what it could be. and also i use a 8th of a tank driving to town and back, 10 miles one way . isnt that a lot of ga sto use for only that far

Weird my car does this every time i use the power windows but i do have a JBL amp and to 10" subs, maybe thats why?

Mine does the same thing.The idle will dip alittle bit and the lights will dim.

got no answer for ya, i'm just glad to find someone with crappy mileage just like my 08!

Either your alt is on its way or your battery is on its way. As your rpms drop less current comes from your alt. It sounds more like its your alt. Plenty of alt's die without aftermarket stereo's.

No no no....Tighten your battery terminals, my car used to do this all the time! Your negative Battery cable is lose i can almost bet on this!

ya, i guess u might as well check, whle ur at it check the positive turminal post in the engine bay, tighten it by turning to the right.

i get on average 32.8 mpg in the sc
my wife gets 23 in her 2.2 auto

i dirve my car easy she is on it everywhere she goes.

let off the gas a little bit and your milage will go up
