Need an Amp for mt subs.

Ok so I bout to Kicker Comp VR 12s duel 2ohm and need an amp to run them now.
I had a Kicker ZR240 that I was going to use and I already instaled it but its DOA.

Iv been doing this for years but have not been looking at amps and such that much becouse I already had an amp. But seeing as its dead I need a new one and was wondering what you guys might recomend.

Ok this is what I need,
RMS power of about 700 watts. I need RMS of 700 watts not the peak. So if your going to recomend an amp thats rated at 700 watts please check to see if the manufacturer rated it peak or RMS.

Not all 700 watt amps actuall make 700 watts. some are 700 watt peak and will only make 250-350 watts RMS.

I have to have an amp that can take a 2ohm mono load.
I would prefer a mono€ block amp. But a 2ch is cool as long as it can take a 2ohm bridged load.

And last thing is it has to have a remote gain control. This is a must! If it dosnt have this I wont buy it.

Thanks every one.

no offense, but crunch is junk

for car audio, what you get is what you pay for. there are junk "1500 watt" amps that cost around $100-200, that are pieces of **** and are probably 200 watts RMS

I would stick with Kicker for the amp...usually when you mate the same brand subs and amp you will have a better sound. JL has some good amps. And too bad they quit making PPI..damn those were monsters.

Punch used to be good amps...don't know if they still are though.

Same setup I have. Started in my Neon and moved to my Cobalt. Hits good with the L5 wired @2ohm

Amp is capable of "732"Watts RMS(According to the certificate that comes with the amp). Sub is 600W@2ohm and 300@4ohm

^ No thanks. Sony amps are way over rated. A 600 watt Sony is doing good if makes 400watts.

Blown06 how much dos he want for it and do you have any more info on it?

Sony amps are not over rated, they are usually dead on accurate. I have seen a few different lines tested at the shop i use to work at. I have also had other people verify that they have tested them and they are within +-5 W of the rated RMS values. Sony is not the best company but they do what they say.

I would love a JL 1000.1 but there just to much money. Im not going to pay 600 bucks for that amp. And the 500.1 is a bit to small for me.

I found new 1000.1s on ebay for 500-600 but thats the best I could find.

I was very skeptical at first when my cousin suggested this amp to power my L5

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...850147,00.html

but after using it for a year I cannot believe how efficient this amp is. Good price too!!
