Need HELP! Cruise Control

As most of you know, you turn on the cruise control and it shows "Cruise Engaged" for a few seconds on the dash. Recently it will say that for a split second and then disappear. And the cruise doesn't even activate. My cousin said it could be the brake switch. ..? Any idea what the issue could be, and how to fix it? Thanks for reading.

This.

The other advice about the brake switch could be right but don't you think that if your brake switch was shorted or not working properly you would have other signs? Like brake likes being on all the time or maybe the brake light lit up on the counsel?

Cruise control can be tricky but gm does wire it through the 3rd brake light so if that's out it won't work.

I had this problem on my 06 and what fixed it was putting my foot underneath the clutch pedal and pulling up. Seriously, it worked flawlessly after. Clutch pedal was just ever so slightly tripping the signal to disable cruise control I guess. Worth a shot ha.
