well finally had time take pic of my cheap set up. got about 130$ altogether it sound awesome. 10" kicker comp, eclipse EA2212 150watt amp, peripheral line converter, a couple 3/4" thick 10" sub box rings and some fiber fill. every thing else has remand stock. Still a little getto but Im not completely finished.

 

hide the amp and wires and paint the rings black, the way it looks now is IMO cheep and crappy. the point of keeping a stock sub box was to make it look stock right? cause that doesn't do it.

 

I wonder how that sounds in person. Very curious. Good job.

 

From my experience in Car audio from many moons ago the size of the enclosure may not be the right size for the sub. You need to find out what is the number of cubic feet the sub enclosure is ( don't own a cobalt yet so i cant tell you ) and the box may need to be ported for optimum base.

 

Was not intended to be a professional install, mostly wanted to see how it sounded with the stock HU, i was very suprised on how well it did come out. And yes i know all about enclosure size, use to compete back in the day when 145db was really loud.

 

That is what the poly fiber fill is for I assume. This is usually used to make your sub think it is in a bigger enclosure than it really is in. 1 pound of fill per sq. inch is typically used.
