No Sound after new stereo Install.

I just put in my Kenwood indash DVD setup and I am not getting any sound out of the speakers at all. I used the proper Metra wiring harness and everything looks to be hooked up right. Is there something that I need to do to bypass the factory amp or something?

theres 2 blue wires if your running amps thjat have to be connected as a remote, if you dont u jsut have to connect your 1, its like a remote for your stock amp

Yeah that would probably do it, haha.

What year is your car? Does it have the 7 speaker Pioneer system? Did you use Metra part # 70-2103?

Which Blue wire did you use? There are 2 one on the left and one on the right. I tried them both but got nothing

ummm no you don't. dude i JUST did my install not more then a a month ago.

i bought the GM10 schoche wireing harness. 169.00 or something like that.

i forgot to hook ONE wire up and it was the wire for the amp turn on. after i hooked it up i had music. i didn't have to bypass anything.

trust me man. the system in my cobalt isn't stock any more. i have already been to 2 shows with my system. got 1st at one and 2nd at another.

if u are just addin a radio to the pionner setup or base set up..u have to hook all blue wires together on the radio harness and the wiring harness that plugs into the stock wiring...if pin connection is wrong..u can just simple run a new wire or at times hook it onto the accesory wire(red).

I have tried hooking the blue wires together and I get nothing. I used the Remote wire from the new deck and I put it to both of the wires and then all of them at the same time and I still got nothing.

I talked to Crutchfield on this one too and they also said I need to bypass the stock amp.

I don't know what else to do, I tried what you guys are suggesting but it still won't work. I am dropping the car off at my friends shop on Friday and he is going to get it working. I'll let you know how it turns out.

You have to have hooked something up wrong, or your new deck is not working properly. I hope your friend is doing that for free. I jsut hope you didn't short something if you did hook a wire up wrong.

The deck works fine. I hooked up a speaker that I had sitting around in the garage right from the deck and it worked. We are going to check the wiring harness first to make sure everything lines up. If that's all good (Which I am sure it is) then he is just going to bypass the amp.

Im having the same problem! Hooked everything up, unit turns on, but no sound. For the blue wires, all I have is a blue/white wire coming from my pioneer deck and a solid blue wire from the harness? Is that what I need to hook up together to get sound?

Also, could it be possible that my unit doesnt turn on anymore because its not grounded? Which wire is that again, black or can it be the black/white one?
