um, Try searching, cause I believe your driving a Cobalt, not a malibu or G6? If that is correct, you won't lose anything but the Steering wheel radio controls, XM (if you have it), and Onstar (if you have it.) You can also get adapters for the Steering wheel controls for most aftermarket radios. I believe you can get a onstar adapter too. And the XM antenea can be modified.

Your DIC is in the Dash, not the radio. Good luck (and check out the stickies)

I guess this is what you are looking for, but you really don't need it.

This dash kit will work and since the DIC is not integrated into the radio but it is on the dash instead you wont loose any of these features.
This is the wiring harness you will need. The steering wheel controls you will need an adapter for and I can't find a link for that quickly.

You should be able to go to best buy or circuit city, or any local stereo shop and find these things too.

As for your head unit...It is a pretty good unit. It has all the things you would need to set up a good system. It has 22 WRMS x4 which is normal for aftermarket head units. It has 3 preamp outs. They are only 2.2V but that is good enough unless you are looking to do comps then it is a little low. The sub-out doesn't fade, I don't particually like that aspect but it isn't necissary to have it fading. It also has a very nice E.Q. integrated into it. If you like the all the controles then this is a great unit for you.

Than why is it that crutchfield says that for the 05 cobalt an OEM integration adapter is needed or il lose the driver information center?

Also, cardomain has the deck or 40$ less than crutchfield....kind of odd

Crutchfield is not always right - they also claim certain double DIN units will not fit in the Cobalt which in fact they do. You do not need any special adapter.

Check out the sticky post on Stereo FAQs.
