One touch switch for passenger window?
Can it be done?
Any chance it's as simple as just buying another drivers window switch and hooking it to the passenger wires? Anybody done it? |

no its implausible you would need quite a bit of work to even attempt to get it to work
|
Why?
Is the passenger motor different from the drivers? It seems plausible that it could be accomplished with a switch change. I'm gonna take a good look when I pull my door panels off to paint, but was hoping maybe someone had thought of this or tried it first... |
Humm.. i dont know how it works in there, but i'm sure theres a switch somewhere letting the switch know when the window is the whole way down.. let us know if u get it figured out

The driver switch and passenger switch for the driver's door is all one unit, they can't be separated so you'll have a hell of a time getting the passenger switch to work like the drivers.

i know that in my thunderbird, there was a >$10 module that you just spiced into 2-4 wires. I had auto driver down, i could've bought that part and had auto pass. unlike the guy above me the t-birds untits were seperate. Since no one has done it yet, i would have to say that it's nearly inpossible on our cars

The trick is not in the switch, it's in the bcm.
Not sure if the motor has a limit switch in it or if the bcm just senses the current getting too high when the window bottoms out but short story - even if you could change the switch, it would not work. Now, if you could crack the bcm so you could reprogram it....... I wish it had auto up (like my 535 does), great thing when pulling out of the drivethrough - tap the switch and the window goes up leaving your hands free for....driving :) |
^^^^ x2 on the BCM thing. Even assuming you had full access and knowledge of how it worked it still would be quite a task

Thanks for the info! Saves me a headache!
