Question PAL/XM static

I've got an '07 Colbalt 3LT with stock stereo. I bought and installed a new PAL unit so I can hook up my iPod, and I've noticed static while playing the iPod through the PAL. After some troubleshooting, I found that the XM channel has the same static even when the iPod isn't plugged in (or if I unplug the PAL from the stereo, too). Since I am not an XM subscriber, I didn't notice if there was static on that channel prior to installing the PAL. There is no static on the FM/AM or CD, or if I plug the iPod into the front AUX input.

Anyone else have a similar problem? Any solutions? The car is still under bumper-to-bumper warranty for another 1500 miles or so. Will the dealer even know how to fix this?

Thanks,
J

take the pal back... not that a new one will solve the problem because its GM audio (ever notice how when someone makes something they shouldn't it sucks?... example dub rim subs, burgers at Chinese restaurants, eminem singing)

I'm pretty sure it's not the PAL that's causing the static, since there's static on the channel even when the PAL is taken out of the equation...
