i got it yesterday and i am trying to figure out where i hook the lighting wire to to turn night mode on. i think it goes to a wire for the headlights but am not sure.

any ideas cause i'm lost.

Are you talking about the dimmer wire (orange or orange/black?) If so it’s normally in the radio wire harness. Most of the time that wire isn't hooked up. Just adjust the settings so it’s not so bright. I'll have to look up what wire it is, if its there.

 

it's more of a purple wire

and they give you like twenty feet of it to

 

Purple, what kind of purple? Light purple, pruple/wite, purple, purple/plack
Do you have the wire color diagram?

 

i have nothing no wiring diagrams or anything but i do know it is supposed to go to the headlights so that the unit goes into night mode when they are on. i just need to figure out what wire under the dash to hook it to without messing anything up

 

Well I looked it up and this is what it told me.

Headlights-Lo WHITE (-) AT BCM C2 CONNECTOR

If you need me to decode it I will.

 

is that wire on for low and hi decode i see that and my head starts to spin

 

That wire is just for lo, not high. Its gonna be a negative voltage on the wire. This wire is located at the BCM (passenger side of the center console by the fuses). I think the connecter says C2 on it.

I honestly don’t think that wire actually goes to the lights. I’ve never seen that on a hu before even if it’s a navigation/dvd style. But I got you the info... too bad we don’t have the wire diagram.

 

i have been searching for a wiring diagram and so far i have had no luck if i find it at some point i will post the link

So wait you are looking for the orange or the purple wire? The orange is at the radio harness I believe.

 

the orange with white stripe is on the strada and it goes to the vehicle lighting power supply on the car i just need to figure out where and what wire it is i will check tomorrow and see if it is at the factory harness.

 

yea I dont know though if that wire (orange) is + or - voltage.

please get a multimeter they are so much safer. $20 wal-mart

 

there isn't an illumination wire in the harness for us 06 guys. i was able to find it and i can post a pic if ud like but you must test this on ur own with a MM... i make no guarantees and you can **** up your car by tapping the wrong wire or messing with any BCM wires in general

 

i actually tapped it onto the same switched wire that i have the acc going to it comes right from the little button for the cars menu and it hasn't given any problems fortunatly. now if only i could hook up the speedo wire that would be awesome

lol i haven't been able to find anything anywhere on what wire to tap to for now i am just going to say **** it i got it to go into night mode so for m=now i am happy it's not going to be blinding me at night

 

the VSS is a bitch to get to I wouldnt even try it.
