does anyone here have a 2006 2.4SS? in the GM sales book for the cobalt it says that the pioneer 7 speaker system is standard... but my car doesn't have one. did GM add this as a standard feature recently?

edit on the website it lists the MP3 radio as standard, which was a $150 option on mine... but on the "build your own" area, they're both optional

 

i think its standard in canada but not the US, atleast thats how i understood it

 

I ordered my 2.4 SS with neither the pioneer 7 speaker nor mp3 player. So, at least when mine was ordered/built, they weren't standard.

 

i have an o6 ss 2.4 i have every option i can show you window sticker where i paid extra for the mp3 and the 7 speaker sound system along with the heated seats etc i live in usa by the way

 

yeah, that's what i'm thinking. but the book i worked off of mentioned it as standard... the only thing that i can think of is that they changed the spec later.

 

hmmm if you have a book and its gm certified or written by gm i would take it to dealer and tell hem you want options free or its false advertisement and you can sue them

 

they mention that they can always change spec without notice, just a little CYA from GM, but check this out

i live in canada and mine came standard on the G5 GT which is the same car (basically) as the 2.4SS

 

Pontiac tends to have better standard equipment than their Chevy counterparts, though. It appears to be a type (although a very blantant one) on Chevy's main page, as everything else on the site points to it as being an option.

 

I know with me having just went in and looked at everything for a 2006 and speaking with them that on the LT it is an upgrade but he told me that if I went up to the SS it would have come standard!!!
I would go in with something printed out from their website along with the book that you have and say listen I bought this car thinking that it came with all this stuff standard..
Then ask them what they are going to do for you? and if they don't want to do anything for you that you will take it as high as you have to to get things done!!!

So far, the dealer was less than helpful, they state that it's not on the sticker, so it's not on the car.

they're telling me that for a brief period that it was, in fact, standard but that was later made an option. the chev website isn't clear but the sales brochure lists it and the MP3 radio as standard.

 

I have an early '06 SS2.4 without any options added. It didn't come with the pioneer system or the MP3 player.

 

I have the window sticker to my 06 2.4 SS and on the options list there is the Pioneer system and MP3 CD Player.

Pontiac tends to come with more fetures but they are also a little more( goes with the advertising I guess, you know "pontiac is made for drivers" bs

 

The dealer can change or delete standard options when they order them, it is sort of like a delete option to make the vehicle less expensive. What is on you window sticker is the only thing that counts. Mine was ordered without the mp3 player radio, but with the Pioneer speaker system and no onstar. That made more sense for me as the radio was going anyways so why pay for it, and with no onstar I don't have to worry about wiring adapters to make it work. The MP3 is standard, the Pioneer speakers are not.

 

the balk is that i went in for an LT, and was sold on the SS as "look, it has this and this and this standard" and then, it wasn't in MY car. should i have checked? YES but i wouldn't have ever thought to look at that. i called chevrolet, so far, they seem to be backing me up.

 

This kind of attitude really bothers me. Thinking letigously about how you can something for yourself via the legal system is really horrible. It bothers me even more that you would talk about it without thinking it through to conclusion.

 

I Bought My 2.4ss In Jan And It Came W/ The Pioneer 7 Speaker Setup. On The Window Sticker, It Was A Standard System.

 

I Bought My 2.4ss 4dr In December For My Gf Xmas Gift, And It Came W/ The 7 Speaker System As Standard Equipment. No Additional Charge.

 

no neither the mp3 nor the 7 speaker system are standard on the 2.4 SS's...the 7 speaker is standard on the ss/sc...thats about it...the mp3 isnt standard on any model

 

mp3 is standard on the ss/sc...this much I can tell you. Dunno about the n/a ss.
