Pioneer headunit? doable?

I am getting a z1 unit in about a week or so, and my girl wants my head unit...

is it doable at all?
Will that head unit fit?

probably... if you wanted that one you would have to re wire it in to the cobalt that way everything is the same... you would have to find the wiring of both units and make sure they have the same pinouts. Theres a good chance you could just re-wire it to make it work but honestly it would be tons easier to get a new one. not sure how much that unit could get you thou although it looks like a badass one for an oem hean unit

and if it fits the shape of the dash is my biggest concern. it could be hardwired in...but if it dosnt curve right its gonna look like ****

The GM radio is GMLAN based. It will probably assume it's stolen in a TC and not work.

It would be far more trouble than its worth to make it work . Youd have to find a alternate switched 12 volt and constant battery power source . GM radio's like Zinner said are controlled by the BCM via a data wire ( GMLAN ) . There would be no way to adapt a NON-GM OEM toyota head unit to it . I dont even think that would work with the adapter harness for aftermarket HU's that retains onstar and XM options . Youd have to completely bypass it . If your Cobalt has the pioneer system , the pioneer amp recieves a LAN signal too , so there would be no way possible for it to work without the GM radio .

Aviod that swap like the plague
