They should. or at least I think they should.
I have all aftermarket but if I bought a car with a nice audio setup and it was there from the factory I would expect to be able to have the thing on max without a problem.
In other words, GM should not put a factory system in that is capable of being overplayed.

^^^ that's why speakers blow in the first place. no offense man but thats like saying gm shouldn't put a factory engine that will break. if your redlining it and bouncing that limiter all day long your engine will have issues. I'm not going to pretend i know what will happen but you know what i mean. GM does put some forethought into this thou but anything is able to be blown. Notice how on the stock deck the bass is limited and after a certain point both volume and settings wise it actually decreases. That point is where gm found it would distort on most music or whatever. But its not bullet proof. add a poor quality recording, bad burned disk into the mix and (again no offense) cranked volume and all the settings at +6 something will fail. In fact when i wrecked my car and had a rental it was an 09 impala with 1400 miles when i got it. New as **** and the speakers were pretty trashed. both of the front ones had already started to sound blown. on as little as 1400 miles. Again settings were at +6 both treble and bass when i got it but i didn't even know that was physically possible to happen in that short amount of time.
