depends on the amp size... while it could be done if you were to do so id invest in an amp thats specs are head on with an aftermarket sub... that way if you do blow it you have enough power for the aftermarket one and you know exactly which sub to buy

Well i was just curious. i know it wont be as loud as my previous systems. At one time i had 4 12" subs, then 1 12" sub, 2 10" subs, 1 15", and 2 12" subs that i recently blew. I think im gonna get some w7's, but not sure

no you can not hook an amp up to it. it will blow. it is an 8ohm sub. i have yet to run across and 8ohm amp. but its not raded to that much. i poped mine with only 25watts. just get the pioneer slim thing and an amp hooked up to the line that is hooked up th the factory line. (I am 90% sure you do not need to mod the stock box with this sub) http://abcwarehouse.com/product_cata...~prod_ID~20006

how much bass are you looking for? you may be well within range to get enough bass out of a stock like system... on a scale of 1-10 how loud do you think the stock sub is? and on that same scale of 1-10 (if you voted 1 then a 2 would mean double the output ect) what would ideal bass be?

No its not a 8 ohm sub its a 2 ohm dvc... and i really doubt 25 CLEAN watts would blow it considering the stock amp is a 6 channel 238w (or something like that) so its using at least 79.33333333 watts
