plans for my system

Here's what I'm planning doing...

Head Unit: Pioneer AVIC-D3
Mids and Highs: Zapco i6.2 components in the front and i6902 coaxials in the rear
Sub: Diamond TDX 12 same as the D9, may go for two Kicker Solobaric L7 12's, haven't made up my mind yet. (Either setup will be in a ported box)
Amp: Sub amp: Kicker ZX1500.1 M/H Amp: Kicker ZX350.4

Going to a prefabbed Ground Shaker box.

All of this is gonna be around $2,230 before tax and shipping...

those L7's sound quite delicious............and from what I've seen, diamonds usually sound better 10" for some reason. That sounds beastly though

be ready for everything to rattle, my one JL W7 rattles every thing in the car, just have some duct tape ready to duct tape the back of things to keep em from moving aka the baby car seat cap thingys on the rear deck that will rattle and make noise everytime a bass note hits, a little duct tape to hold em down was good

I think I decided on the Diamond Audio TDX 12, I'm getting it for free. I cut a deal with a guy I know who sells car audio stuff. BTW I'm putting all of his stuff on Craiglist it's all really high quality stuff being sold at cost. HE HAS EVERYTHING. But ya, he's going to give me the TDX 12 if I put everything on craiglist and sell his 67 firebird with 8 10's and 4 15's in it, heard it tonight, and it is the most impressive stereo I have ever heard. But ya I'm also going to do Diamond Audio components in the front because I'm getting them from him at cost. So my price will be cheaper now. I decided I'm going to need to wire in a capacitor so I think I'm gonna order one of those, too. I'm gonna get the D3 off of ebay for 700 bucks. Not buying anything out of shops because they rip you. I'm really excited to get the ball rolling on this. The way I see it this is my reward because I'm in college going to school full time working two jobs and I'm at work 7 days a week. Shouldn't take me too long to get this stuff though.

Here is my revised setup:

H/U: Pioneer AVIC D3
Mids and Highs: Diamond D661a(aluminum tweeter) in front and Diamond 391i 6x9 in the rear
Sub: Diamond TDX 12 (same as the D9)
Sub Amp: Diamond D61500.1 (going to run it at 1 ohm so I get all 1500 watts RMS)
Mids and Highs amp: Diamond D3400.4
Capacitor: Power Acoustic 3.0 Farad Digital Capacitor

I was thinking about getting one built since I am saving money on the stuff I'm buying, it all just comes down to the money I'm gonna spend. If need be I'm gonna run a dual battery setup with red and yellow top optimas.

which means I **** canned the cap...

I also am able to get a RF T12D2, any suggestions?

Also since your using a Diamond sub, don't stick it in a ported box! Build or have someone else build you a fiberglass sealed box. It will keep the bass really tight and clean. You might loose a little peak volume, but pushing 1500w to it, that shouldn't hurt you at all. In fact, you might have to turn the bass down to keep it from over powering all the mids/highs.

Also since your getting all Diamond speakers, suggest you get some foam rubber baffels for the speakers and apply a little sound dampening. At the very least, it should go on the inside of your sub box and on its contact points with your car.

And stick with the Diamond.

Red top for the engine and the rest of the car, the yellow will run the system fine...

Ok so why do you think I should go with a sealed FG box over ported? Also what would a ball park estimate be for a box like that?

fiberglass is expensive and very few people will be able to tell the difference in sound from a fiberglass box vs a mdf box.... he wants you to get a sealed box for the punchier effect it gives and overall flater responce curve for the best sq. I sorta agree but if you knwo what your doing a good ported box can sound very nice as well (but will have a peak in the responce)

Today was a good day, it all started!

I ended up not opting to got with the Diamond TDX... Because I got a Diamond D9 instead!

Check it out...

It's a Diamond D9 12D2, I think I'll only need one, but you never know...

Also I'm really considering going with a Hifonics BXi 1606D instead of the D61500.1 just because of cost, the Hifonics is going for 280... And I am going with a Diamond D3400.4 for the mids and highs, gettin it for 170 new...

Emperor answered that in one. Of course, me and him have gone back and forth on that issue before. Basicly, the drop off in response from a sealed box closely matches the increase in response that most subs have when the freq drops. They counter each other out, giving a flat even tone. And it's punchy because there isn't any phantom signal or echo.

Hifonics def isnt diamond but if your concerned with price they are decent. Honestly thats one of the few brands im sorta on the fence about. Most are either good quality or shitty but Hifonics isnt really that great but not shitty either. But if you get that amp subtract a bit from the rms ratings bc ive herd they are overrated.

Ya I've heard good stuff about the Brutus though. I don't know right now, I'm on the fence, too. I want the D61500.1 but then again, I really can't afford it, well I can but it will take a little more time. Plus this way I could get my D3400.4 and if anything just hold off on the D6 for now until I can get the whole system in because the AVIC D3 is gonna bend my wallet over and **** the **** out of it.

We'll see! haha no but I was so suprised to find them because they aren't made anymore but these things rock. So I said even for 200 I'll do it. I coulda gotten Hex's of ebay for 270... I wanted M5's! haha

oh and I am going to with a Diamond D3800.1 for the sub. Talked to Diamond today and they told me only to go with 800 rms, I think I could pull off 1000 though?
