Question Prob a stupid question but...

How do you get the dimmer knob off the dash trim? I am replacing it and cant get it off. Or for that matter after you get it off, how does it get back on the new pice.

You wanna take the knob off the housing. Or the whole thing off the trim?

it comes out from behind, so you'll have to remove the trim piece. just remember that when you're pulling it off, there's wire's attached to the back so you don't want to go nuts and yank the **** out of it. but once you take the dash trim off, and flip it over, it's pretty self explanitory how it comes out.

well, the whole trim, i know its just held in with clips but it is a pain.

I was just asking cause I couldn't figure out how to get the damn trunk release off that panel when I installed my voltmeter. I am going to paint my trim this weekend and wanted to know if it was as tough as the trunk pop.

Use a pry tool. It's shaped like an "L" and it's flat to pull out the trim. It's in pretty good so you'll have to use some force. It'll sound like you cracked it when it pulls apart. But it won't be

ya, I have taken parts off, but not the radio trim or part with the dimmer. They kind of are a pain to get off. Thanks.

Yes they are. I thought I was gonna break it when I removed that. Just undo one end and you'll see how it clips

if you pull from the door side, and look underneat with a flashlight, you can see where the clips are. sticking a small flathead in where the clips are and prying out is much easier than trying to pull it off.

It has little clips on the sides. You'll probably end up breaking a tab. I did. They're so thin and weak
