proper harness, no sound.
proper harness, no sound.
few quick questions. i just installed a alpine cda-117 with the proper scosche harness from walmart. now, i have my chimes and everything working, power, bass, but no speaker sounds at all. can someone help? i didnt think i had to cut my factory harness when using a "expensive harness".
also, anyone have this deck that can tell me why the display turns off after 5 seconds of using it. it still plays just all the lights shuts off until i turn the volume up or down or something then 5 seconds after that it turns off again.
thanks
Justin

i know with my soche harness and my aftermarket dvd player i had to tap the amp turn on wire to the pink " amp turn on wire of the car "
this only applies if you have a premium pioneer system from factory as our speakers are wired to an amp and surprisingly the harness doesnt connect to amp turn on cable in the car, worse cases scenario you can call thier tech support number and they'll help u out, they're quick and nice
so connect the blue/white " amp turn on wire on the headunit harness to the car's pink amp turn wire on the stock harness of the car btw my car is an 05 ur color might be different thou..

Yea if you have the pioneer system then it's just a matter of the amp remote turn on wire that you need to wire up.
Any extra info you can give helps us help you. Car year, what model, etc.
The lights turning off on the deck is probably just an option within the deck's settings.
--Took me 2 minutes to search "alpine cda-117 lights turn off", apparently your deck has a black out mode. Should be able to disable it.

looks like that unit has two different types of equalizers built into it, but no direct treble or bass adjustments. You've gotta tune it through the eq's.. that would drive me nuts, I like to adjust my bass on a per song basis (remote bass adjuster on my amp ftw)
check page 17 of the manual and it shows how to adjust the eq.... even thou its not called bass/treble it really is the same thing
but yes i would be dissapointed in the radio as well. alpine tends to always lack features wise for the price you pay
