Redoing a sub box

ok i have a ported box for 2 12's. i want to make a a sealed box for tighter bass. also but the subs with thte magnet out side the box. so i would just be replacing the front peace of wood that holds the subs. now, would this still sound good? whats the pros or cons on this.
quick sketch on paint

sealed ftw but id keep the sub magnets inside the box saves space! trunks small enough already. you may just want to buy a new box however most boxes that are ported are made to be ported (as far as internal air space goes) you may be able to leave the gap in the middle and close off the back of the port on each side.

not really its all based on the box the air space in the box is the most important if you have to much or too little = not great sound, it will still work but your doing sealed for the sound quality!

ya no that doesn't sound like a good idea. Inverting the subs can be done but it normally makes the subs sound worse, if ur looking for it to sound better "sealed" u probably shouldnt invert them

oh and a ported box with the port sealed off and subs inverted (or even normal) is probably too big to be a sealed box. For the most part trying to turn a sealed box ported or a ported box sealed is like trying to add extra cylinders in an engine

i just inverted the subs, and it sound way better, more of a thighter base, no as loud as before though because now im running them with a amp that has 1100w and i used to run them with an amp that had 2600w, and is still with a ported box.
