Remote Starter

Well this is my first post here, my friend bought a remote starter for his mom's cobalt for xmas and he knows i'm really good with cars so he wants me to install it, but I don't own a cobalt I own a Ford ZX2. I'm trying to find wiring **** and other usefull info. I did do a search and found pretty much useless info. I found the wiring diagram from readyremote but that seemed dumb since i needed to use wires they didn't have listed like a brake input and what not. Let me know any info that will help. Thanks

well my friend and I just tried to install the remote starter and we seriously fucked it up. For starters we couldn't get the car to start. We did get all the acc. to work but not to start. Then we got fed up so we wanted to remove it and when we did we can't get the key out of the ignition. So now the key is stuck and we have no remote starter. Any ideas what happened and what can solve the problem???

THe problem is that amateurs attempted to do a job in search of professionals. Have it towed some place that can install it properly and be done with it.

LOL, way to research throughly before ripping apart the wiring of the car. Good luck getting the key out, time to call Mr. Goodwrench for a nice $96 an hour.

You should NEVER bother with installing a Remote Starter yourself. Also, if your car is still under warranty, forget about that now because you tried to install it yourself instead of having some proffessional place do it. You could have saved alot of money that you are now going to have to spend to get it fixed by just going to someone that knew how to do it. Don't mess with your cars electrical system, that will only cause more problems down the road. Good luck though with getting everything straightened out. Let us know how it goes.
