Second skin inside sub box + surprise
Second skin inside sub box + surprise
So as always i can never be truly finished with anything. I yanked my subs to spray the inside of the box with second skin spectrum. I sorta want to see if it will improve my score but the goal and purpose is to reduce resonance and provide a better seal. I had 4 quarts of this stuff sitting for over a year, i was planning on spraying the underside of my car but without a lift or access to one i cant really do it. The contact i had to use a lift disappeared right after i bought the stuff
SO i sprayed the better portion of a gallon of this stuff in the box. Can anyone guess what the green tape is for? I want to see if anyone can guess the surprise in progress

oh in terms of what the final "covering will be and or look like depends on how crazy this turns out to be. I'd like to do black vinyl for a more stock clean look but we'll see

I was actually thinking of getting 2 of the SRX 5 channels for all the highs but ended up going with the ppi's
to give you an idea of how clean these amps are when testing the THD (total harmonic distortion) on the bench the number goes down if you turn off the light on the bench. Yes the amp is so clean the florecent light being on makes the THD go up.
i have no idea what you said but it sounds nice
did the subs sound any different after second skin?
when i had mine i was thinking about lining the inside of my box with damp pro

i meant i dont know about the second skin because i haven't put the subs in the box since i sprayed it
thd of the ppi art is less than .02%
something ghetto like boss or something can have like 10% thd

Betta its going to look sick.
I just saw a Sansui amp on Ebay.
Now I what your thinking, but for a few years they contracted PPI to build them high end amps.
PPI used the same board and chasis as the art series (it was at the same time the art series was out) but only made limited numbers of them.
The one I saw was a 600.2 .
So thats a class A/B perfect for running a set of rears.
There white but only difference bettween them and the PPI is it says Sansui accross the front instead of the art decal.
I'd sell you mine but its a 600.1 so it wouldn't work for what you need.
Have you ever looked at the old school Phoenix Golds, The M44 M50 ect. Those amps were awsome and look similar to the PPI amps. If cosmetics are a concern.

lol impulse ya I'm not 100% sure the actual thd rating but the a600s are literally the cleanest amps I've herd personally. a straight swap from a ppi powerclass 650 to 2 a600s made my mids sound just that much cleaner. its hard to describe but there was a difference. same thing when swapping the tweeter amp to a mcintosh
lol gotta find the best amps on the planet to match the best mids too
