security light help

i purchased my g85 SS acouple months ago. and i have never seen the security light on the dash light up. its missing the top plastic dome lookin thing so i think it may be broken. i tried looking on gm parts direct for a replacement light but im having trouble locating on online. any suggestions on where to find/buy a replacement security light? i might just have to look at it better but its in a tight spot. im guessin its a type of part that when the light breaks you replace the entire part instead of some bulb. its pretty tiny lol. i would like to just have working.

also tryin to avoid the stealership but if i have to, i guess i must lol

Are talking about the thing up along the windshield, if so I believe you are referring to the light sensor. The security light is in the cluster.

im pretty sure the light sensor is just for your automatic headlights. when it senses its dark, your lights come on. as long as your automatic lights work you shouldn't need a replacement.
