the second one is going to be your best bet for the combo you want, the dual channel amp will deliver enough rms to each sub with out over powering the subs, the first amp would be to weak for the 2 subs but it would work if you had to

oh and what impedance is the subs?

cause the second amp would be your best bet cause it is dual channel and will deliver close to rms for each sub, depending on the resistance of the coils, that will determine how much power the amp will put out and depending on how you wire the subs(series or parallel) you can alter how the amp views you subs resistance

u could get a mono amp........and run them ontop of each other........cuts the impedence in half and that will bump.........im in the middle of doing my system.......i went wit a 12 inch bazooka tube and running a 400 watt amp to it.....and a 4 channel 400 watt amp to my new speakers.........and dont forget to dynamat!!!

yea dynamat is not in the plans lol

im on a tight budget like under 300 haha

i have the free subs, so i just need to get an amp, wiring and im gunna make my own boxes

the first one would be good cuz they are dual voice coil.... i think, if i ran them ontop of each other that would make a 2ohm impedence, which with that amp is 500rms, that to the 2 250rms subs would be perfect

what you wanna do, assuming that your subs are 4ohm coils. is wire them for a 2 ohm load so that you can keep the gain low.

do not make your own boxes unless you know exaclty how to make the cubic ft that each sub requires

well, that, and it's a pain in the *****. if you don't need something specific, it's alot easier to buy rather than build.

I had two comp VR's in my mustang, and ran a KX750 amp, and had the gain turned way down. I have a KX450 amp in my balt, and run two equally mtx subs and it pushes them just fine. You can save you some money there and still get the same quality.

my comp vr's were the same as what you had, in the kicker ported box. my new subs are mtx 5500 series 12's. they are 400 watts rms a piece, but my 450 pushes them fine. Unless your going to max them out ALL the time, I think you can get by with a 450 watt amp. Plus with a smaller amp you definately won't have to use a power cap. You should check out www.ikesound.com for some reeally good deals on stereo stuff, I live by this website, and would suggest it to anyone looking to buy stereo equipment. They have REALLY cheap wiring kits too.

thanks for the info, i want atleast 200rms to each sub so any amp that pushes 400-500rms will do the job

i found a good amp on that site that would work either at 2 or 4ohms perfect, at 2ohms it puts out 280rms and at 4ohms it puts out 220rms
i just found it at sonicelectronix for like $10 more, but im gunna buy my wiring and LOC from there too so it will save me in the long run

Good deal, I figured you could get by with the 450 watt amp, and save some money there. Let us know how it goes when you get everything in.

yea thanks again, i can get it on ebay for 115 so i might just get a LOC from somewhere local along with the wiring

how much do u think it would cost to make 2 small subwoofer pods for each corner? if i did it in the back of the trunk i would use fiberglass, if i did it in the front of the trunk agains the seats, i would make a triangle like box for each side so i can fit my snowboard in

I don't know anything about boxes. I would go with ported boxes. thats what kicker went with for their boxes, even though I know alot of people live by sealed boxes. Sealed boxs hit harder, but you get better sound quality out of a ported box, IMO.

agreed.. plus kickers produce a high amount of air.. it's like these things are made for ported boxes lol

what the hell? all kinds of nonsense up there

what impedence are the coils. dual 2 or dual 4? If you have 2 dual 2 subs then you want the mono block. if you have 2 dual 4 subs you want the 2 channel. End of story

eh im not really sure because i have to go get the subs tomorrow from my neighbor 5 houses down lol, but either way it will be a good starter system

i placed my order:
boxes= http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+-10SQTC-.html

amp= http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...MF-1250-2.html

wiring= http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+NTX-5570.html

LOC= http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...Converter.html

dont bitch about my wiring, if its really shitty i have extra stuff at home, just wasnt sure if it would be enough so i bought some extra stuff that was cheap with good reviews...

all should be here in a week or 2

Quick Reply: so i got my subs
